As part of the HRBT Expansion Project, construction crews will implement weekly lane closures, detours and traffic pacing on local roads, I-64 and the Hampton Roads Bridge-Tunnel. Travel restrictions include possible delays, reduced speeds and detours in some areas. Lane closure, detours and traffic pacing are subject to change based on weather conditions and other factors.

TRAFFIC ALERT: Motorists traveling on I-64 East (towards Norfolk) should expect a new traffic pattern at the Hampton Roads Bridge-Tunnel. Both eastbound lanes have been permanently diverted to the right at Hampton shoreline and onto the newly constructed eastbound trestle. Traffic will then feed back into the existing eastbound tunnel. • Single lane closure on I-64 east from 1st View Street to Patrol Road from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Tuesday, May 7 to Thursday, May 9

• Single lane closure on I-64 west from W. Evans to Bayview Blvd. from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Motorists should expect delays or take alternate routes. As always, motorists are encouraged to slow down, eliminate distractions and pay careful attention while driving through the construction zone.
