Thought for the Week

Dear Friends,

As I mentioned a few weeks ago, we are observing a "Season of Creation" in the Diocese of Massachusetts. We end this season on Sunday as we celebrate the feast day of St. Francis.

We will be offering our annual blessing of the animals during both services this Sunday. No matter how big or small, you are invited to bring your well behaved (or crated) pet at either 10 am or 4 pm for a blessing. We will sing hymns appropriate for the occasion and offer prayers of thanksgiving for all the blessings of creation. EVERYONE is welcome to come and share your love of nature and its creatures.

From 8:00 am - 11:00 am we will also be selling pumpkins of all sizes and homemade dog treats. Make sure and drop by as you are walking Fido in the morning.

In the Way of Love,

Debbie

This Sunday

This Sunday, we observe the feast day of St. Francis with the blessing of animals. We will conclude our "Season of Creation." You may join us in worship in person at church or on Facebook at both the 10:00 am and 4:00 pm services.

At 10:00 am, Tom Gaither will be assisting with the readings while Jason BArnes and Barbara Layne are our ushers. All those celebrating birthdays this month will be invited to the rail for the monthly birthday blessing. The children will gather for Church School at 10:00 am and then join the congregation for communion.

At the 4:00 pm Celtic Service, Paul Massari will give the reflection, Jane Stewart will read the prayers, Joanna Troy will  usher, and Paul Massari will assist with the readings. We will also offer the blessing of animals at this service.

Please join us wherever you are

in your search for meaning.

Everyone is welcome at any and all services at

Parking News

Another Halloween season is upon us! We have worked out an arrangement with the City of Salem for parking during the month of October. Parking is available all Sunday morning until 12 noon. For those of you worshiping at the Celtic service, you will receive a ticket to put on your dashboard that allows parking during the service. The same is true for choir members on Wednesday night and for those who volunteered to help set up for the movies. These are only good on the times specified. We are grateful to the City for giving us the opportunity to park during this very busy time in Salem.

Young and the Restless Returns in October!!!

Our Children's Chapel returns on the second Sunday of each month at 9:00 am with music and stories for infants and toddlers (and for anyone else who is young at heart). This 20 minute service also includes communion. Our theme on October 9th is creation.

Please join us and encourage others you know to move and sing as we explore the stories our of faith.

Silent Movies Return to Grace Church LIVE!!!

Grace Church is proud to present Ryan Patten accompanying these two movies again! We need folks to help with checking in attendees/selling tickets at the door, selling popcorn and water, and answering attendee questions (e.g., where to find restrooms, etc.) Please let the Committee know how you can help.

For tickets go to https://grace-church.ticketleap.com/

Little Free Anti-Racism Library

We need books for our Little Free Library!!!! Please consider bringing a book (or books) on Sunday related to anti-racism and place them in the library at the front of the church. We also appreciate any monies you could contribute for the purchase of more books.
