Construction crews continue to work within the BNSF Railyard as part of the Mt. Vernon Avenue Bridge project. Crews are currently building columns that will support the new bridge. This work requires installing rebar, setting formwork, pouring concrete, and allowing time for the concrete to cure.
WHAT TO EXPECT:
Construction activity will be ongoing and is anticipated to take place Mondays through Fridays from
7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Additionally, crews will perform night work on Monday, May 6 and Tuesday,
May 7 from 6:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m. You may hear noise or feel vibration related to construction activity. Large construction vehicles and delivery trucks may be in the area during work hours and will primarily use W. 5th Street from the freeway to deliver materials to the jobsite.
