Happy Friday, everyone!
I’ll start with some big news today. Katie Territo, our beloved Kindergarten teacher, has been accepted into the Carmelite Monastery down in Jacksonville (yes, the one originally from Buffalo where Sister Veronica currently is). While we, selfishly, hate to lose such a natural to the teaching profession, we are overjoyed for the countless prayers that will be said for our world. Attached here is a letter she crafted to share with all of you. Fittingly, she will be joining them on August 15th, the Feast of the Assumption. So please join me in praying for her, and enjoying every last moment of this school year with us before she moves on.
…Who would have thought the Carmelite Sisters would be the biggest and most ruthless headhunters of our faculty! That’s two now in just a few years!
May Crowning, as always, was absolutely beautiful today. Thank you to Mr. P for coordinating this amazing event. Let’s all pray for our First Communicants, as many of them will receive our Lord for the first time in Holy Communion this weekend!
Finally, the wins for St. John Bosco Schools keep on coming! With the rollout of our new logo, mascot, and now website, we have even more exciting news to share! Our numbers for the gala have come in, and the results are astounding! Our goal was to exceed 90k in donations, and we crushed it. $143,000 was pledged and donated to us this year! Whether you contributed one dollar or ten thousand dollars, whether you put together the gift baskets or shook down local businesses for sponsorships, whether you attended in person or offered your prayers for our success, we all did this, together. Congratulations! I couldn’t possibly go one sentence further without shining the spotlight on Marney Horvath and Mary Anderson, who gave countless hours putting this all together. I hope they feel the same satisfaction that I do with a job well done and an amazing contribution to our school. Thank you Marney and Mary, and thank you all!
Tuesday’s Mass with the Bishop had to be rescheduled due to a priest's funeral. Our Middle Schoolers will now attend Mass on 5/23. Thanks for your flexibility!
In Him,
Andy
