Take the Culture of Safety Survey

Being a safe clinical enterprise means we need your input on our safety journey. The survey is anonymous and only takes 10 minutes to complete. Make your voice heard!

  • Currently, we have received feedback from only 250 APP aligned physicians and office staff.
  • Please respond to the survey by July 31.
  • You have received a link to the survey in your email from our external vendor, “Perceptyx."
Click the "Full details" button below to read more on these timely updates.

  • COVID-19 vaccine: ED patients and inpatients: Beginning July 22, the COVID-19 vaccine will be available to Advocate Aurora Health ED patients and inpatients. Learn how to order for your patients.

  • COVID-19 pre-procedure testing and Epic guidance: Patients who present proof of a vaccination with a vaccine not approved for Emergency Use Authorization in the U.S., should still undergo pre-procedure COVID-19 testing. Patients who have received a non-U.S. approved COVID-19 vaccine should not be entered into Epic at this time.

  • Johnson & Johnson vaccine update: The FDA updated its fact sheet on the J&J vaccine to include that though rare, the vaccine may be associated with an increased risk of Guillain Barré syndrome.
Epic Transformation
EpicCare Link security update: With news of organizations becoming subject to cyberattacks, we want to ensure you we continually monitor our Advocate Aurora Health digital platforms and take proactive steps to ensure the safety and privacy of patient data and our user accounts.

We are now requiring 2-factor security sign-in to access EpicCare Link. This helps ensure you're the only person who can log into your account. Learn more.

EpicCare Link order entry: Beginning Aug. 17, order entry will replace the referrals function for managed care patients in EpicCare Link. This enhancement will reduce the need to manually fax orders to Advocate Aurora hospitals. We will share additional information, including resources and training, in the coming weeks to support your success in this transition.
Epic Connect "day in the life": We continue to follow our first practices on their Epic Connect journey.

"The implementation team has continued to support us in a tremendous manner as we go through the implementation journey. Training scheduling was very convenient and accommodating for all staff members including providers. All trainers are very knowledgeable, experienced and attentive to our learning needs as we are going through the training, giving us confidence to look to a smooth transition."

Advocate Aurora Epic upgrade: On track for Aug. 25, planned enhancements include ability to view cardiac imaging results from outside organizations, ability for cardiologists to document upper extremity findings using diagrams, and COVID-19 vaccine and testing credentials in MyChart. Please see this overview for additional safety and efficiency enhancements slated for this upgrade. Clinical end user education begins Aug. 12.
Driving Success
Maintaining our focus: To help our patients live well, we must annually document care for all our patients’ chronic conditions so we can ensure their conditions are well managed and they can receive the benefit of various disease management programs.

  • 2021 YTD, 47% of known chronic conditions have not been refreshed. See current PHO refresh rate in table (as of July 17).

  • Learn more in Clinical Risk Adjustment on-demand CBT in eUniversity (under Quick Links on APP Pro).

Supporting MA patients: It's recommended that bone mineral density testing or a prescribed medication to treat or prevent osteoporosis be implemented within six months of a fracture. The APP referrals team will begin sending EpicCare Link In Basket messages to help you identify your MA female patients, age 67-85, who've had a fracture and are in need of the test or initiation of an osteoporosis medication. This supports a key MA performance measure. Provider talking points | Patient education
