Later this month, I will be attending AANP’s National Conference in Orlando. I’m looking forward to representing Virginia’s NPs, celebrating with Southwest Region president Carole Everhart when she receives the Virginia State Award of Excellence, and connecting with NPs from across the country. Changes coming in two weeks

Beginning July 1, NPs will return to the 5-year experience requirement to apply for autonomous practice licensure. NPs who have their licenses before that date will be able to retain them. If you have 2 years of experience, apply now!

Autonomous Practice Facts

Volunteer One of the benefits of autonomous practice licensure is being able to volunteer without a collaborative agreement. One area in need of volunteers is Remote Area Medical, which is hosting events in Chesapeake (June 25), Luray (July 9), Emporia (August 20), Grundy (October 1), Warsaw (November 12) and Fishersville (November 19).
