BACK TO SCHOOL 2021-22
STUDENT MEDICATION DROP OFF
Our school nurse, Mrs. Walsh, will be on hand after the back to school Mass this Sunday, August 15th to accept student medications your child may need while at school. Please look for her near the front door of the school building. A reminder that all medications must be in the original packaging with the pharmacy label intact. If you have any questions, please email Mrs. Walsh.
TECHNOLOGY UPDATE
Saint Mary Magdalene Catholic School is happy to announce that we will provide devices to all students. All devices will be managed by StMM through GoGuardian and Google. This will allow us to keep all students safe while utilizing technology at school.
FROM THE CAFETERIA
Our cafeteria staff is hard at work putting together the lunch menu for our students. Along with a daily hot lunch selection, we will once again offer custom made salads, fresh fruit, healthy snacks like yogurt and cheese sticks, cookies, milk, and juice, just to name a few. All food served and sold will be NUT FREE in accordance with our nut free policy. Please be sure to login to RenWeb on August 12th to see all the delicious offerings and pre-order your child's lunch. As we begin the school year, Monarchs will not eat in the dining hall. Instead, lunches will be delivered directly to their classrooms. Please make sure you order your child's lunch the day before by 1:00pm to allow the cafeteria staff to properly plan. Also, visit https://stmm-nc.client.renweb.com/pwr/ to add funds to your child's lunch account. Please note, accounts will not be charged until after lunch is served. If you have any questions about our wonderful lunch program, please email Heather Blake.
UPCOMING SAFE ENVIRONMENT TRAINING DATES
In order to create a safe environment for our children, all prospective volunteers are required to complete Safe Environment Training and submit a volunteer application. Training dates have been scheduled for Tuesday, August 24th at 1:00pm and Monday, September 20th at 6:30pm. Please contact Bertha Smith to register. Seating is limited so registration is required to attend. For more information and applications, please visit the Safe Environment webpage, http://www.stmm.church/get-involved/safeenvironment.cfm.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT SCHOOL SUPPLY LISTS
It has come to our attention that some school supplies were mistakenly left off of the School Tool Box supply kits. Please note, the grade level supply lists posted on the Admissions page of our school website are CORRECT. If you ordered a supply kit, please cross check the supplies you receive with the lists posted on our website. There may be a few items to purchase on your own. Apologies for the inconvenience.
CARE PROGRAMS: PROCEDURES AND REISTRATION
The attached letter outlines procedural information for StMM's Care programs and includes a registration link. We are finalizing programming and schedules for StMM Clubs and hope to have that information in the coming weeks. Clubs will begin shortly after Labor Day. If you have any questions please feel free to reach out to Megan Mastrogiovanni.
FALL SPORTS 2021-22: Boys Soccer - Girls Volleyball - CoEd Cross Country
The first day of fall sports for the 2021-22 school year is Monday, August 23rd after school. An updated physical form must be turned in by this date in order to try out for a team. PSO NEWS
Back To School Faculty & Staff Breakfast
On Tuesday, August 17th at 8:30am, the PSO will host its annual back to school breakfast for our faculty and staff. Please take a look at the sign up genius and contribute if you are able. We appreciate your help in making this much-loved tradition a success once again!
Used Uniform Store Open This Thursday Evening - August 12th, 5:00-7:00pm
School starts next week! It's time to try on those uniforms. If you have new students, or if your kiddos grew over the summer, the PSO can help you find uniforms at our evening Used Uniform event on Thursday, August 12th from 5:00-7:00pm in the school lobby. Please pay by check and wear a mask when in the school building. If you have outgrown uniforms, hoodies, PE uniforms or spirit wear to donate, feel free to bring them with you.

The Used Uniform Store is also open on weekdays whenever the school office is open; check the school's online calendar for hours. Please pay by check in the school office and wear a mask. If you have uniform donations, please leave them in the bin in the corner near the window.
Back to School Picnic - Sunday, August 15th
The PSO can't wait to see you at the Back to School Picnic on Sunday, August 15th following the 4:00pm Back to School Mass. We'll have food and treats available for purchase from the Knights of Columbus, Mr. A's Beignets and Pelicans Snoballs from 5:00pm onward. The PSO will have some tables and chairs set up, and there are picnic tables in the courtyard, but please feel free to bring your own chairs. The playground will be open, a DJ will play music, and teachers will be there to greet students and families. See the link below if you are able to lend a hand with set up or clean up. Thank you to Erin Bonasso and Kelley Ann Ward for organizing the event. Please contact Kelley Ann with any questions (kelleyannward@gmail.com).
Volunteers Needed
We have a group of dads and handy parents meeting at the school on Saturday, August 14th from 9:00am-1:00pm to rehab five wooden picnic tables, hang privacy screening, and assemble two portable basketball hoops. Bob Callaway will lead the volunteers. The PSO will provide lumber, hardware and saws, but we ask volunteers to bring basic tools. The Callaways will be in touch with volunteers beforehand to coordinate. Please sign up here if you can help. Volunteers will meet in the Activity Building.

We would love help with set up (2:30pm) and clean up (7:00pm-ish) for the Back to School Picnic on Sunday, August 15th. Will involve basic set up/clean up of tables, chairs, coolers and trash cans. We are also looking for one or two parents to help pour flavors at the Pelican's Snoball food truck.  Sign up here if you can help.

The PSO will be cleaning out, organizing and inventorying our storage closets and bins on Monday, August 16th from 9:00am-noon. We'll also be making recess kits for 4th-8th grade homerooms. Please sign up here if you can help, and bring a label maker and/or ball pump if you have them. Meet in the school lobby.
Spirit Wear Item of the Week
Did you know that the new online spirit wear shop has two uniform-approved maroon hoodies that can be worn to school every day with the uniform? You don't have to wait for Spirit Day to rock one of these hoodies! We previously featured the "Pick Your Logo/Sport" hoodie that can be customized to your kids' favorite sport, band or club. We also have this classic maroon option with the school's logo. Hoodies are available in adult and youth sizes. Order directly from Ink'd Threads and your order will be shipped to your home. Please note that school delivery and free in-shop pick up are only available for schools in the Greenville, NC area; choose the USPS or UPS options to ship to home.

This Monarch got her advanced scuba certification and enriched air certification this summer! So cool! Summer is almost over, but you can still share your adventures with us. Send a photo of your summer fun to Lydia Binanay or post on social media using the #MonarchAdventures.
