Introducing... Folklorama - One Unified Virtual Experience. One Multi-Cultural Fusion Event,
presented by Manitoba Liquor Marts!
Travel around the world without leaving your home from Friday, August 6th to Sunday, August 8th, 2021!

After having to cancel the 51st Festival in 2020 due to COVID-19, and indicators pointing to another year where producing a traditional festival was not possible, the Folklorama family created a unique, one-of-a-kind fusion event for this August so we can continue to celebrate Manitoba's diversity in a way only Folklorama knows how!
Presenting Sponsor
“Manitoba Liquor Marts is proud to be the presenting sponsor of the Folklorama – One Unified Virtual Experience,” said Manny Atwal, President & CEO. “Over the past 25 years, Manitoba Liquor & Lotteries has supported Folklorama in a variety of ways. We have been honoured to sponsor the festival and pavilion entertainment, kick off events and volunteers, which our own employees have had the privilege of donating their time to a pavilion. While this year may look different, Folklorama will always be known for bringing Manitobans together to celebrate the diverse cultures that make up the fabric of our province. This is a mandate that is very important to us at Liquor & Lotteries. Enjoy the vibrant performances of the virtual showcases from the comfort of your own home. We’ll all be together soon."

Remembering our Folklorama Family!
Over the past two years, Folklorama has lost many of our family and fans – today we remember, Past President, Prem Bhalla.

Prem was born on January 24, 1936 in Punjab, India. He grew up in Uganda, and then studied engineering in England. In 1965, he returned to East Africa to marry his wife before moving to Winnipeg in 1975. Winnipeg quickly became home for them as they immersed themselves in the community. Being a strong and dependable community member was of the utmost importance to Prem and he did not disappoint. He took an avid role in the Hindu Society of Manitoba, the Intercultural Council of Manitoba, and with our Folklorama family serving on numerous committees and the Board of Directors, becoming President in 1993 and 1994. He believed strongly in giving back to his community and he volunteered countless hours throughout his life. Thank you, Prem.

We will always remember those that are now longer with us, and keep their service and passion for the mission of Folklorama close to our hearts.
