CITE Website & Membership System Changes
June 29 System Launch
Over the last few months our team has been hard at work preparing to replace our website and membership system. We're excited to share that our launch date is set for June 29!

What does this mean and how does it impact me?
Our website will have a new look and feel that's easier to navigate and managing and checking the status of your membership or other transactions will be easier than ever before!

All existing CITE accounts (both paid members and subscribers/non-members) will be migrated from our old system to our new system. All that will be required is a password reset. At that time, we will also ask account holders to do data validation on their profiles. We will provide documentation to guide you through how to do this when the time comes.

We will follow up in our next newsletter with more details, and supporting documentation.

Important information regarding renewals and profile updates
If your membership will be expiring between June 15 and June 28, we are asking that you hold off on renewing your membership or updating your member profile until June 29. Changes during this time may be lost.

If you need support with the website or access to your account during the transition, please email support@cite.org.

Featured Staff Member: Will Toon-Cortez
Will is CITE's Resource Program Specialist, and has been with CITE since July 2021. He was kind enough to tell us a little about himself, his background, and his experience as a CITE member, as well as staff member.
How long have you been in your current role and how did you get there?
"I have been with CITE since July 1st of 2021 where I started as a Program Support Technician. I was given the opportunity to assist with student data privacy contracts and other special projects and was promoted to the Resource Program Specialist in September of the same year."
What is your favorite CITE memory?
"While I am still relatively new to CITE, I already have so many great memories! I loved everything about the conference, from meeting a bunch of members, to presenting about the California Student Privacy Alliance, to how fast-paced and enriching the whole event was. If I had to narrow it down to one single memory, I would say it was the President's Reception after the first full day of the 2021 conference. To see so many CITE members from across the state come together to share ideas, have fun, and let loose was a sight to behold!

What's your favorite thing to do in your free time?
"My husband and I love to travel and try out new places to eat. We are foodies at heart and love to get away to places like L.A. and Las Vegas to try the best that the area has to offer."

What's an interesting or fun fact that most people don't know about you?
"I studied abroad in England for a year and lived in the Cadbury Mansion as it had been converted to dorms for the University of Birmingham. Sadly, it's since burned down and been razed, but I will always our neighborhood smelling like chocolate as the Cadbury factory was also located in the same neighborhood."

Are there any special shoutouts you'd like to give to someone in your life or the CITE Community who has made a special impact on you?
"I want to give a special shout out to two people. First off, my husband, Ian, has discovered his passion for IT after volunteering at our CITE conference. Secondly, I would like to shout out our board president Jeremy Davis as he inspired my husband and I to switch to the IT field after they met and spoke at the CITE conference. It really is amazing how one person's passion and knowledge conveyed through one conversation can inspire other people."
