It’s April, and what’s the big news for this month? Tax deadline? The Final Four games? NO! It’s CONVERGENCE 2024! TXCPA Dallas’s annual CPE conference is only five weeks away and at the Dallas Chapter office, we are feeling the burn!
Our all-day mega-event will be held downtown this year at the Sheraton Dallas Hotel. Check-in starts at 7:00 a.m. on Friday, May 10, and classes start at 8:00 a.m. Twenty-six sessions featuring the newest and best information on trending accounting and tax topics of the day will be offered by some of the greatest minds and presenters in the accounting/finance fields today. The luncheon keynote address will be given by Ron Baker, founder of VeraSage Institute, who will share his insights on the benefits of the subscription model. If you haven’t already registered for Convergence, I encourage you to do so now as capacity is limited. The Member cost is $110, which covers eight hours of quality CPE, networking opportunities, lunch and parking. It’s the best CPE deal around, so register now! And if you'd like to help us spread the word about this exciting event, click here for a graphic you can post to your social media accounts. Thanks in advance for showing your Dallas Chapter pride and supporting our Convergence tradition! And for those of you needing Ethics credits, don’t forget about our Ethics for Texas CPAs course on May 9 at the Sheraton. Kathy Kapka will teach this four-hour, State-approved class that we’re offering at special Convergence 2024 pricing. Click here for more information and to register.
Speaking of registering, there’s still time to register as a Convergence 2024 sponsor. Your company’s support would be most appreciated, and you will receive an excellent package of benefits worth well in excess of the cost. If you would like to sign up, contact Laura McFadden and add your name to the list of our fine sponsor organizations.
Besides Convergence preparations, we do have some other fun and informative activities on this month’s radar. On April 20, you can join a group of volunteers at the Rockfish Grill in Richardson to make sandwiches for the homeless at TangoTab’s Feed the City event. On April 25 Robert Goudge, Frost Bank Sr. Vice President, will lead the second installment of the Cash Management CPE Series, speaking on how to use your bank to manage your cash flow. Also on the 25th, we invite you to join us at our April Thirsty Thursday Social Hour at Blue Mesa Grill on Montfort Drive where we will recognize our Convergence sponsors. We invite everyone to come enjoy some great refreshments, visit with your friends and colleagues, and give a round of applause to the people and organizations that make our biggest event of the year possible.
Best of luck to all of you coming down to the April 15th wire! Take a short break now to register for Convergence 2024, if you haven’t already, as well as our other events. Hope to see you soon!
