A Message from our CEO -

Ray Hernandez......

Texas sure is strutting around with record rain and now the heat of Summer has arrived. The recent storms have cause tremendous stress and damage both physically and mentally to individuals, families, and businesses alike. It is times like this that I am remined of a quote from Fred Rodger, “When I was a boy and I would see scary things in the news, my mother would say to me, "Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping.” As FEMA, First Responders and others have poured into our community, I have seen friends, neighbors and strangers step forward time and time again to help each other without regard for themselves.

As the President and CEO of the Huntsville-Walker County Chamber of Commerce, a US Army Veteran and resident of Walker County, I know that the best of the United States of America and the great State of Texas is unwavering in its commitment to lift all segments of the community up.

As we enter vacation mode please consider volunteering with organizations here at home. Members of the Huntsville-Walker County Chamber of Commerce are here to help. Please consider supporting them as well..

SAVE THESE DATES!

Actively Engage with Us!

Both the Diversity Committee as well as the Government Affairs Committee WILL NOT meet in July!

We will be back in August!

News for the Huntsville Community

BRYAN – The TxDOT Bryan District is studying the future I-14 Central Texas Corridor from Rogers in Bell County to Huntsville in Walker County. This Study will determine the feasibility of a corridor and route for a roadway that meets interstate standards. The I-14 Central Texas Corridor Study will align with ongoing statewide I-14 development and planning efforts to ensure consistency and continuity of the interstate corridor from west Texas to Louisiana. Additionally, the Study will include evaluation of the recently designated future Loop I-214 around the Cities of Bryan and College Station, which is anticipated to co-align with I-14 as it passes through the Bryan-College Station area. In Fall 2023, TxDOT held the first round of open houses and obtained feedback from local communities within the Study area.

TxDOT is hosting a second round of six in-person open houses with a virtual option to introduce potential opportunity areas for the future I-14 corridor and gather feedback from local communities throughout the Study area. All six open houses will contain the same Study information and exhibits.

In-person participants are welcome to come and go any time from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. and will be able to review project materials, ask questions of TxDOT staff and/or consultants, and leave written comments. Online participants will be able to view the same information provided at the in-person meetings.

Shot in the Dark Sponsorship Opportunities

Sponsorships play a crucial role in the success of events. They provide essential funding and resources that help bring events to life, ensuring a memorable experience for all participants. For businesses, sponsorships offer a unique platform to showcase their brand, connect with their target audience, and build valuable relationships. By sponsoring an event, companies not only support the community but also gain significant exposure and enhance their brand image. Sponsorships create a win-win situation, driving both the event's success and the sponsor's business growth.

We hope you will consider one of these few remaining sponsorships for your business!
