We've broken ground - twice!
The Kisembo-Chirimwami family are joined by Epiphany Catholic Church clergy, Bloomington Mayor Mwilambwe, and Jacques Bisimwa (2012 partner family).
Saturday, July 24 was a momentous day for Habitat McLean County, as we broke ground on two homes for the first time since 2019.

But, it was life-changing for the Makala-Mbembi and Kisembo-Chirimwami families, as the groundbreaking ceremonies took place on the sites of their new Habitat homes. There were tears and smiles, prayers and hugs to celebrate the next step in their Habitat journey.
We are so thankful for the sponsors on these houses: the Kisembo-Chirimwami house is sponsored by McLean County Women Build, Jan Elfline & Drake Zimmerman, First Allied Securities, 100 Women For Good, ISU Credit Union, and Lowe's.

St Patrick Church of Merna is the lead sponsor for the Makala-Mbembi house, with additional support from
Greg & Sara Frankowiak, Wesley United Methodist Church, and the Knights of Columbus.
Katia, Astride, and Fidele turn the dirt at the site of their new Habitat home.
Join us for the next groundbreaking
All are welcome to join in the next celebration as we break ground on the Ashley family's new home, built in memory of Bill Nichelson. The ceremony is usually only 30-40 minutes long. Dress for the weather.
