SOLAR JAM

BATTLE OF THE BADGES 5K
On your marks and get ready for the Battle of the Badges 5K on Saturday, April 20!

All ages are welcome to participate. When registering, choose the team you'll be supporting either Whitestown Fire Department or Whitestown Metropolitan Police Department

PLANTING FOR TOMORROW
Planting for Tomorrow is quickly approaching! Volunteers will be assisting the Whitestown Parks Maintenance Team plant Bald Cypress trees on the newer section of the Big 4 Trail.

To volunteer, sign up here. If you plan to attend, please bring any shovels, gloves, and other supplies to assist in planting the trees.

VIKING FEST
Who is ready for Viking Fest? The event includes Viking-themed reenactors, Viking villages, stage entertainment, artisans selling crafted items, food, mead, inflatables, and more! There will also be a Keg Toss and an Iron Skillet competition.

Purchase tickets in advance for $7 or at the gate for $10.

2024 PRIMARY ELECTION VOTING
The Primary Election is quickly approaching! Take a look at voting dates and locations for the primary election.

The first day of early voting in the gym of the Whitestown Municipal Complex is on Tuesday, April 30 from 1-8 p.m. Please enter through the rear gym doors on the north side of the building.
GILES PARK PROPERTY
Today (4/12) is the last day to complete the Giles Park Property survey! Whitestown Parks and Recreation needs input from residents on what they'd like at the Giles Park Property (across the street from Main Street Park). To provide input, the survey must be completed by 5 p.m. today (4/12).
TOX DROP COLLECTION EVENT
The Boone County Solid Waste Management District has their Spring Tox Drop collection event on Saturday, April 27 from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. It is located at the Boone County Highway Garage at 1955 Indianapolis Avenue in Lebanon.

They're accepting items such as household cleaners, batteries, tires, gasoline, and more.
DONATE YOUR SOLAR GLASSES TODAY
You have until 5 p.m. today (4/12) to donate your Solar Eclipse glasses in the lobby of the Whitestown Municipal Complex (6210 Veterans Dr, Whitestown). The donated glasses will be sent to another country who will be experiencing a solar eclipse soon.
AUTISM AWARENESS & CHILD ABUSE PREVENTION MONTH
At the April Town Council meeting, the Whitestown Town Council adopted proclamations declaring the month of April as Autism Awareness Month and Child Abuse Prevention Month in Whitestown.

LEGACY CORE ROAD CLOSURES
This year, participants of the Battle of the Badges 5K will be racing through Legacy Core and the Big 4 Trail. Parts of the roads in Legacy Core will be closed for approximately 2 hours in the morning of Saturday, April 20.
SHADE STRUCTURES AT MAIN STREET PARK
Weather-dependent, shade structures will be installed at the Main Street Park Splash Pad soon. The new structures will provide additional shade for guests to enjoy the splash pad.
JACKSON RUN TRAIL CONSTRUCTION TO BEGIN SOON
Weather-dependent, construction will begin for the installation of a trail at Jackson Run Park. This horseshoe-shaped trail will be a part of a 22-acre community park that will feature a nature-themed playground, picnic tables, and open greenspace, with on-site parking.
NEW TRAIL MILE MARKERS INSTALLED
New mile markers have been installed along the Big 4 Trail in Whitestown. The new signs mark every half mile along the trail.
