DCBDD Updates
SNAP-Ed Nutrition Nuggets
DCBDD is partnering with the SNAP-Ed program at The Ohio State University Extension Office in Delaware to bring the program Nutrition Nuggets to the people we serve, providers, and interested members of the community. The program will teach participants how to make nutritious food choices within a limited budget and how to lead a physically active lifestyle. The virtual classes are free to all participants. Sessions begin May 5. Registration is required.

The Family Resource Center will once again partner with Delaware City Schools and Andrews House to host the Free Summer Lunch program this year. They will be offering curbside pick-up service, open to all Delaware County children.

Medicaid Seeks Input on EVV Program
The Ohio Department of Medicaid (ODM) is gathering input about Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) from Ohio families, providers, advocates, and stakeholders who receive or who are involved in Medicaid services.

Law Enforcement & Your Community
The Delaware County Sheriff’s Office is introducing a new initiative aimed at deeper citizen involvement in local law enforcement operations. Resident volunteers will contribute ideas, perspectives, and feedback to the Sheriff’s Office.
 
Volunteers will choose from among four focus areas where they’d like to serve: Minority Recruitment, Hiring & Promotions, Policy & Training, and Use of Force. Deadline to apply for these volunteer positions is May 7.

Upcoming ADA Webinar - Higher Education and the ADA
Colleges, universities and community colleges are covered by either Titles II or III of the ADA. The ADA may be relevant in a number of post-secondary education situations, including the admissions process, academic adjustments and accommodations, architectural barriers and housing, and students with disabilities who are dismissed from school.
