HARRISBURG ROAD CLOSURE

Heads up! Starting Monday, July 8, the 29th Street bridge over I-83 will be closed for the next year and a half. Plan your route to HBIC accordingly! If your commute requires a detour, make the most of those few extra minutes with your family or with the Lord!

Whether you stay overnight or just visit for a service or two, you're invited to come and worship, fellowship with other BIC family members, and enjoy the outdoors. This year's gathering will be August 2-11. Our own Pastor Lynda will be speaking on Monday and Tuesday mornings! MEN'S BOAT TRIP

The Men's Group is going canoeing/kayaking on the Swatara Creek this year. We will meet on July 6 at 8:30am at the Middletown Boat Launch. From there, we will carpool 10 minutes to the put-in spot at the Fulling Mill Road boat launch. It could take up to 2 hours of easy downstream paddling to get back to Middletown, so expect to pull out of the water around 11:30.

Don't have a boat? Don't worry, we have both canoes and kayaks (and PFDs/life vests) that you can borrow. And if you aren't an experienced boater we can pair you with one in a canoe. This activity is open to all men and boys, so feel free to bring kids and invite friends and neighbors. Sign up here if you plan to come!

BLOOD DRIVE

The Red Cross is hosting a blood drive in our HBIC CE Room on Friday, July 12 from 10am to 3pm. There has been a shortage of donors for many months, and your gift would be life-changing! This is a special opportunity to love and serve your neighbor. To sign up for an appointment, click here.

FALL MEN'S RETREAT

The world is a wild, undisciplined place full of mixed messages about discipline and its value. We want to know what it means to be disciplined towards God. What are some practices of spiritual discipline that offer guidance for navigating those mixed messages we encounter? How can we be disciplined together as a community of faith?

All HBIC men are invited to our men’s retreat where with our speaker, Nate Hackman, we will explore these questions as we work together to learn and do specific disciplines that bring us closer to God. We'll have plenty of time for fun, games, and hanging out, too. The retreat will be Friday evening, September 20 through Saturday afternoon, September 21 at Kenbrook Bible Camp. Space is limited, so please register by 9/1 (or 8/1 for an early bird discount...see costs in the registration form) here.

VBS MISSIONS OFFERING

Each year our children and their families contribute to a special offering project throughout their week of VBS. This year's VBS Missions Offering Project is Clean Water for Macha Mission Hospital in Zambia. Our goal was to raise at least $3000 to help with providing clean water for the hospital 's work and for all those who live at Macha Mission. As of Friday, the total raised is $3407.73!

The congregation is invited to join the kids in supporting this project! You can click here to contribute directly, or you can give cash or checks marked VBS Project. You can also read more about this Clean Water project here. ...Your gifts will be such an encouragement to the VBS children, as well as such an encouragement to those living and serving at Macha!

We welcome you to contact us by email or by phone if you have a need. Here is the contact information for our pastoral and office staff.
