The Spring Appalachian Dance Ensemble in the Valborg Theatre: Department of Theatre and Dance Showcase Runs April 3 – 7, 2024

The Department of Theatre and Dance (T&D) at Appalachian State University proudly presents the 2024 Spring Appalachian Dance Ensemble (SADE). The production takes place in the Valborg Theatre on the university campus at 7 p.m. from Wednesday, April 3 through Saturday, April 6 with a 2 p.m. matinee on Sunday, April 7, 2024. All seats are general admission with ticket prices of $17 for adults, $15 for faculty and staff, and $10 for students. CARLTON GALLERY 2024 WORKSHOPS

The 2024 workshops will feature instruction in oil, acrylic using palette knives, acrylic/mixed media, oil/cold wax and mixed media, along with Toni Carlton's Expressive Arts - Mixed Media Collage. All the workshops are taught by our standing gallery artists who have the talent for rendering outstanding artwork in addition to being an informative and meaningful instructor.

Grandfather Mountain announces revamped Grandfather by Night events

LINVILLE, N.C. – Grandfather Mountain, the nonprofit nature preserve operated by the Grandfather Mountain Stewardship Foundation, is once again offering its series of nighttime expeditions on the mountain this summer through its popular educational program, Grandfather by Night.

This unique experience on Grandfather Mountain lets guests experience the park after hours with education staff as their guides. Guests will discover some of the park’s nighttime wonders while stopping at its most significant sites, beginning with the rare opportunity to watch a sunset at the world-famous Mile High Swinging Bridge.
