Little Fort Lions Club, Waukegan recognized and honored Lion Les Morris celebrating 55 years as a Club member.
President Russ, read out a letter from International President Douglas X. Alexander commemorating Les on this achievement with a '55 years Chevron Pin'. Les was also endorsed by lF IPDG Lion Tom Lippert who thanked him for his years of service and sent him his best wishes.
Les is a second generation Lion joining Lions in 1967, and later forming Little Fort Lions club in 1973 serving our community in many ways. Les spoke to us about his love for this Lions club and for the work that Lions do throughout the world. He enjoyed working on many fundraising events including frying burgers at the Lakefront festival, Scoop-the-Loop, Bingo, the Red Garrison Award, Klondike Derby, Soapbox Derby and Pinewood Derby.
When traveling through the States he would look up where and when other clubs were meeting and n the spirit of Lionism he would often join them in fellowship and has made new friends around the country.
All in all Les is a model Lion and has dedicated his life to the service of others. We are very fortunate to have him in our club.
-Thank you Les!
