Still Waters Adult Day Center News & Updates
Still Waters Adult Day Center is a person centered, faith based, and activity rich center for our seniors. We provide a safe place Monday - Friday for seniors to engage with other seniors to encourage social, emotional, and physical well-being.

Together we celebrate life!

This year marks our 13-year anniversary. Still Waters has been providing for the needs of local families by offering an affordable alternative for care for older adults who wish to age in place within their community but cannot be alone during the day.
While the loss of independence can sometimes overshadow the joys of life, at Still Waters happiness is contagious. In 2023, 48 aging adults spent their days at Still Waters receiving care from our compassionate staff. They participated in a wide variety of activities from diverse program providers including therapeutic programs while socializing with their peers and community volunteers.
Together, we are celebrating life every day.
"Preparing to Age Expo" is coming April 19 from 9:30am-2:30pm
Still Waters will be hosting our FIRST ever Senior Expo April 19 from 9:30am-2:30pm at Castleton United Methodist Church! This event is FREE and open to the public!
Discover a variety of topics through interactive presentations, games, and expert-led breakout sessions on preparing to age well. Enjoy live entertainment and the chance to network with like-minded individuals. This free event is committed to making healthy aging accessible to all. Seize the opportunity to invest in your well-being and connect with a community celebrating the beauty of aging gracefully. We will have over 30 vendors available to answer all your aging questions. There will be hearing tests, immunizations, vision tests, and other health screening tests available.

We are also looking for exhibitors if you or your company is interested. Please contact Cheryl Curry at cheryl@stillwatersadc.org for more information on becoming a vendor for the day! Don't miss out on this incredible opportunity to elevate your brand presence and contribute to healthy aging.
Flower Sale is RETURNING May 3
Our biggest fundraiser is coming soon! This year we will be going with a new greenhouse so check out the new options for planters and pots! We will be using Schlegel Greenhouse to supply our flowers. We will have new choices that consist of houseplants, succulents, flowering baskets, and more!
More information will be available in the following weeks. Look for an email with pricing and descriptions soon! This is our largest fundraiser of the year. Thank you for supporting Still Waters and beautifying our community.

Exciting Upcoming Program Collaborations
We are so excited as we jump into February. Our Butler University college students are back engaging in music with our guests. The students taking Music and Language across Communication Differences will spend time over the next few months interacting with our guests in meaningful ways. The students will be joining us on Mondays and Fridays. We love the energy our young professionals bring to the center.

We will also continue our music programming from the support of the Downtown Optimist Club and the Indiana Arts Commission. Every Friday CUMNS Kids will engage in music and movement with Ms. Tammi and our guests. Every Monday our guests will engage in drumming with Bongo Boys!

We also began a great partnership with the Indiana Department of Natural Resources at Fort Harrison State Park. Naturalist, Emilie, has been bringing various learning experiences to our center monthly!
Join us for coffee hour at Still Waters, March 13th, 9:30am-11am
Our next coffee hour is Wednesday, March 13 at 9:30am. This is a group of current and previous caregivers that enjoy sharing memories while creating lasting friendships with lots of support, laughter and tears. Kleenex optional. Join us for a cup of coffee and a treat while chatting with others. Please drop in anytime during the coffee hour. This is a safe space for you to feel less alone and receive mutual support from others.
At times caring for another person can be heavy but it is also the most rewarding and selfless act one can do! Every caregiver needs just a kind word of support to help them rise above burnout!
Caregiver Support Groups February 14 and 28- 9:30-10:30am
We will have Caregiver Support Groups Wednesday, February 14 and 28, at Castleton United Methodist Church, 7101 Shadeland Ave, Indianapolis, IN 46256, in the Legacy Room from 9:30am-10:30am. The Legacy Room is just to the left after entering the front door (just under the overhang).

Just a reminder the Caregiver Support Group is on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of the month.
This is free and open to the community. You do not need to have a guest at Still Waters to attend.
