Arts News November 2021
Covid Impact and Relief By the Numbers
Across Vermont, hundreds of theaters, community arts centers, galleries, museums and dance studios are still struggling financially and facing an uncertain future due to the continuing impact of the Covid-19 pandemic. In one recent analysis by the Arts Council, nearly 200 Vermont cultural organizations reported $36 million in lost revenue since April 2020. The good news is that increased funding through new partnerships at the Arts Council and private donations have helped bridge the gap.

A Free Workshop on Communication and Disability Etiquette
Our partnership with Inclusive Arts Vermont to provide free digital accessibility training to the field continues on Dec. 7 with "Communication: The Power of Language & Disability Etiquette."

Digital Access workshops on different subjects are held on the first Tuesday of each month through July 2022. All are free to Vermont arts and culture nonprofits, and you may sign up for one or as many as you like.

Animating Infrastructure Grants

Animating Infrastructure Grants support community projects that integrate art with infrastructure improvements such as buildings, trails, water or sewer systems, roads, power systems, parks, and more.

The Vermont Arts Council is funded, in part, by a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts, which requires a 1:1 match from the Vermont State Legislature. Council grants, programs, and statewide arts promotion would not be possible without the critical funding provided by these government agencies.
