Dear Residents –
Yesterday, I had the pleasure of attending the 2022 Annual Women of Achievement Luncheon hosted by the Rockland Business Women’s Network. Congratulations to the well deserving honorees, Tracie McLee, Julie Sadowski and Cheryl Braun, as well as two incredibly talented scholarship recipients, Amara Betancourt of Suffern High School, and Jessica Singh of North Rockland High School. Impressive woman all around!
As many of you know, Orangetown’s motto is “rich in history.” For those of you who want to learn more about it, over 80 members of the American Friends of Lafayette will be touring colonial heritage sites in Tappan on Saturday, June 11, 2022. They are expected at the DeWint House around 3:45 pm. The American Friends of Lafayette honors the memory of General Lafayette, who along with his fellow countrymen, played a significant role in defeating the British in the American Revolutionary War.
Please note that the regularly scheduled Police Commission meeting this Tuesday, June 14, 2022, will be starting at 6:15 pm. However, the Commission will immediately be entering executive session to discuss an employment matter with the public session immediately after. In addition, the first Comprehensive Plan Public Hearing that was scheduled for June 21, 2022, has been adjourned until August 2, 2022, at 7:00 pm.
Continue reading to see the fun events happening around Orangetown this weekend. If you are looking for some free things to do, there is the Orangeburg Fire Department’s 2nd Annual Motor-Fest, the Rockland County Youthfest 2022, and Rockland Pride Sunday. And, for our younger residents, the new playground at Veterans Memorial Park is open and ready for action!
Whatever you choose to do, have a great weekend.
Regards,
