IMPORTANT! CE Updates and News
In 2024, dental licenses will need to be renewed again. While that seems like a long way off, it is never too early to start obtaining your continuing education (CE) that is required for the license renewal. As a reminder over the next three-year period:
- Dentists are required to have a minimum of 48 hours of CE
- Dental hygienists are required to have a minimum of 36 hours of CE
Here are some ways to obtain continuing education credit for 2024 license renewal:

Government Relations - 2023 Legislative Agenda | |
Dental Insurance Reform a Key Component of the ISDS 2023 Legislative Agenda
ISDS regularly hears from our members about numerous issues they have with dental insurance companies. The 2023 legislative agenda includes the following dental insurance reform measures:
- Dental Loss Ratio
- Network Leasing
- Electronic Payment Fee Processing Ban
In addition to dental insurance reform, this year's agenda also includes a dental practice initiative focused on teledentistry as it relates to your practice and a change to the Medicaid program that will require the adoption of the American Association of Orthodontics standards for automatic qualifiers for patient eligibility To read more about this year's legislative agenda, click here.
Legislators want to hear from you. They want to know how these issues affect your practice. Your involvement in our efforts will become very critical as we move forward. At the appropriate time during session, there will be action alerts sent to our members. Therefore, we will ask you to respond to those alerts and contact your legislators.
