Men's Breakfast & Spring Workday Rescheduled
We have decided to move the work day from Saturday May 1st to Saturday June 5th due to weather concerns.
Please mark your calendars, as we have a number of inside and outside projects to complete, and we’ll need many hands to help. We plan to serve a breakfast at 8:00 followed by our work at 8:30. Please RSVP to the church office or Jim Ament.

Quarterly Statements
For the first time the quarterly giving statements (1st quarter) were sent via email earlier this week. If you didn’t receive yours, first check your spam folder. If you don’t have the statement, please contact the church office and we will research what caused yours to be missed. If your statement seems incorrect, also contact the church office. As a reminder, the year-end statements will continue to be sent as a hard copy in the mail.

Quiet Discipleship Nomination
UMC Evergreen is blessed to nominate Dr. Terry and JoAnn Vogt as our Quiet Disciples. They have been faithful members of our church for many years.
Terry is our resident volunteer keyboard player who enriches our services with his awesome music. He has initiated and supported many ministries such as: UM Men, The Blessing of the Animals, Pancake Breakfasts, Church in the Park, Cowboy Sunday, Evergreen Rodeo Parade Entries, Hosting The Baroque Folk, Evergreen Children’s Chorale, The Lenten Concert Series, and is a member of the choir. As a retired doctor, Terry is sometimes called upon for medical advice. He is always gracious and caring to all of our congregation.
JoAnn has served our church in many ways. She has been a member and chaired teams such as: Missions, Staff Parish Relations, and Church Council. She served as our UMCE liaison to Evergreen Christian Outreach (EChO) for many years and has donated many meals and hours to EChO and Family Promise. As a retired Colorado State Court Judge, JoAnn has been helpful in giving support to our church on many issues. We are proud that JoAnn served as a judge on the Colorado Court of Appeals and still serves in that role as needed.
Terry and JoAnn served children in Guatemala on an English Speaking Mission trip through Pura Vida in 2019. Several other church members attended with them. They have offered many gifts to us over the years and we are honored to call them members of our congregation.

We are excited that the first step in our Chancel Choir relaunch will happen Sunday, May 2. Outdoor rehearsals will be held on Sundays between services, just outside the narthex doors. We’ll be taping the anthems for a while until our choir can sing live inside again. Contact Nathan if interested – anyone who enjoys singing is welcome – music@evergreenumc.org.

Buying Groceries and Shopping on Amazon Can Benefit the Church
When you buy groceries be sure to use your Safeway card or ensure that your King Soopers' rewards card is linked to our church in their community rewards program. We just received the notice of our first quarter reward payment from King Soopers. It showed that we have 19 households blessing our church with their King Soopers' purchases which resulted in a payment to the church of $228.30. Our Safeway purchases seem to be lagging. Safeway cards can be purchased at the church and they are re-loadable at the store. We have over $1,000 worth of Safeway cards at the church for $10 each. If you don't have one, be sure to contact the church to get one and buy one for a friend or family member too. King Soopers' process is different. You need to go on-line to the community rewards section of the King Soopers' web site and select our church as the preferred organization that you want to link your King Soopers' rewards card to. It is a simple process; however, if you have trouble doing it or don’t have a computer, please contact the church office for assistance. Written instructions are available at the church. The church gets 5% of everything you buy at Safeway and King Soopers, including gasoline.
A lot of us are ordering more things on Amazon than we used to. When you order from Amazon be sure to use Amazon Smile and select our church as your charity of choice. By using Amazon Smile a portion of most items purchased gets paid to our church.
As a reminder, we have a birthday donation program in which we encourage you to give a donation to the church in honor of your birthday or a family member's birthday. You can give whatever amount you are comfortable with to commemorate each year of your life.
Thank you for all of your support for the church.
