CHAMBER CHAT - Week of July 26

I'm back!!! Actually, I have been back all week but somehow, Monday became Friday just like that...
It felt great to take some time for a bit of R & R over the past couple weeks. Lisa's been enjoying some time this week and I hope you're all looking forward to a long weekend!

I hope you've had the chance to do the same and are enjoying the relative freedom as we move out of the last lockdown. Of course, this also represents a huge pendulum shift for some of you and trying to keep up can be as much a challenge as enduring the wait has been. The labour shortage is real and while the CERB comes to an end, hopefully anyone who hasn't been able to return to work until now is choosing to do so...

Either way, seeing people out and about again is wonderful! We're looking forward to some exciting events from the City side to make up for those we couldn't do earlier in the year - and we are most excited to be one of six locations in Ontario to host Worlds' Finest Midway in August. The first midway since March 2020 is "testing the waters" this week in Ontario and if all goes well, we'll be welcoming them here from August 20 - 29.

The Lions Concerts - recorded in partnership with the Empire Theatre - will go live virtually on August 5th and everyone involved behind the scenes was so impressed with both the stage and technical talent. We're looking forward to hosting a few of these groups live next year for Waterfront - watch for the links being posted or subscribe to the Belleville Chamber of Commerce YouTube channel.

I'll let you get on with your weekend plans, just in case you're going to be able to make an early exit today and we'll "see" you again in a couple of weeks. August will slip by quickly then and with it the end of summer... but we'll leave that thought aside for now.
A HUGE THANK YOU!

Thanks to the generosity and goodwill from some of our members, the Log Cabin now has brand new bathroom!

Truthfully, I was trying to pull this together a bit too independently so I'm most grateful to the team here for stepping in and getting it done. It's been a few months of painting and trying to replace the old vinyl tiles, appealing to my own friends and family for the toilet installation and wallpaper (that's on the wall behind the vanity) so once the vanity arrived my first day of vacation, the team jumped to finish the job.

SPECIAL THANKS GOES OUT TO:
Bardon Supplies Ltd./Bathworks - Vanity & Toilet
Carpet One - Flooring
D & M Plumbing Heating & Refrigeration - Faucet and plumbing
Taskforce Engineering - installation

The cabin is open to the public
Monday to Friday from 8:30 - 6:00 and
