A NOTE FROM BRYAN

Summer is for building momentum at Elevate Branson. We’ve recently made great progress on Elevate Community (we’re underway with $2.9 million in grants!) and many other programs are growing and going strong. There are so many opportunities to bring hope and dignity to people in our community and lots of ways for you to get involved. Together, we help make Branson a better place for everyone when we reach out and lend a helping hand to our neighbors in need. Join us this month for some summer fun with a purpose.

THE DREAM IS REAL

Governor Parson visited our campus last month to help us announce and celebrate the approval of our Community Block Development Grant for Elevate Community infrastructure, moving the project forward, full steam ahead! Elevate Community still needs landscaping, furnishings, solar power, home sponsors and more. Tiny home sponsors get to select the colors of the home inside and out, and name it too. If you’re interested in helping provide not just affordable housing, but a real home and sense of community for neighbors who are struggling, contact Bryan at Bryan.Stallings@ElevateBranson.org

NEW BEGINNINGS FOR GRADS AND STUDENTS

Class picture.jpg

Commencement means “a beginning; a start.” We celebrated an Elevate Work class graduation in June with a commencement ceremony – the beginning of their new and enhanced work life success. And we’re starting our next Elevate Work class September 13th, with room for students, mentors and business panel participants to begin something new! Reach out to Donna McConkey at DonnaMcConkey@ElevateBranson.org if you or someone you know is interested in being a part of this workforce development program that is changing lives.

UP WITH KIDS: SUMMER EDITION

1.jpg

Have you noticed the Up with Kids! coin buckets at local businesses you’ve visited recently? Up with Kids! is in full swing, and thanks to our local business participants, you, and your spare change, we can meet kids’ nutritional, social, and developmental needs while school is out for the summer. Any retail business can participate! Next time you’re at the movies, filling up your tank, or grabbing dinner in town, be on the lookout for our buckets and consider throwing your spare nickels and dimes in to help the kids! And if you’d like a bucket at your place of business, call Matt Grindstaff at 417.598.9062

MEET YOUR NEIGHBOR: LLOYD

Most people don’t realize how tough it can be to open a bank account, cash a check or apply for a job without any form of identification -- until they don’t have any form of identification. Elevate Connections helps people like Lloyd reobtain lost or stolen I.D.s or get one for the first time. Now Lloyd can access his cash, deposit his stimulus checks, and pay for essentials he’s needed for the last 18 months. Lloyd takes pride in his I.D. and how it can help him have the independence he wants and needs to pursue future endeavors. Way to go Lloyd!
