Washington County seeks input for website redesign |

Washington County is beginning a complete overhaul of its website and needs your help.
To get the best view into the public’s needs and preferences, we have launched a five-minute survey about what an improved website might look like in the future.
What works well? What needs to be changed? How can the county’s site be made more accessible?
Answers to these and other survey questions will guide the site’s full redesign.
"We have embarked on a project to modernize the county website, to ensure transparency and to make county services as easy to find and use as possible,” said Kathryn Harrington, Chair, Washington County Board of Commissioners. “To make sure we are on the right track, we'd like to hear from our community throughout the process of improving this essential service.”
Culturally specific input is planned for this summer in partnership with community-based organizations. Goals for the website’s redesign project include:
- Improving navigation and searchability.
- Optimizing the user experience for those on mobile devices.
- Creating greater accessibility for those facing visual and other challenges.
- Strengthening security against hacks and attacks.
We intend to replace the current domain name with a more intuitive and secure dot-gov web address. We're also planning to build the new site on the open-source Drupal platform.
We are planning to reveal the first phase of web pages for the new site by summer 2022. Additional phases will be brought online throughout the rest of that year. Complete the survey

- Learn about the Meadow Drive and Downing Street/Butner Road Pedestrian Improvement Projects through the online open house, open through July 25. Both projects include constructing new sidewalks to fill in gaps along the roads. Comment here

- Learn about how middle housing/House Bill 2001 can increase housing options and share your thoughts in an online open house through Aug. 13. Staff is considering changes to the Washington County Community Development Code to allow more middle housing and to make the approval process less complicated. Comment here

ADA ramp replacements have minimal impact on motor vehicle traffic; pedestrian paths will be maintained. Lane closures will be intermittent during weekday hours only. Ramps are in construction on portions of the following roads:
- 185th Avenue and Rock Creek Boulevard-Park View Boulevard intersection
- Adair and Baseline streets (OR-8) - (ODOT)
- Cornell Road between Elam Young Parkway West and Butler Road
- Davis Road between 160th and 165th avenues
- Kinnaman Road between 180th and 185th avenues
