The Summer Reading Program kicks off Monday, June 7th! This summer, we're learning all about our animal friends from around the world! Earn rewards and raffle tickets to put toward awesome prizes by reading and attending our in-person events!
Our Summer Program is sponsored by the Friends of the Library, the Wautoma Kiwanis, and Waushara Healthy Communities, Healthy Youth, and patron donations!

Reading Challenges:
Children, teens, and adults can sign up for the Summer Reading Challenge on Beanstack or by coming to the Wautoma Library. Paper logs are also available at the library.
Everyone who signs up for the Summer Reading Challenge will receive a welcome gift and a prize upon completion of the program as well as eligibility toward a raffle prize of your choosing!
Additional incentives can be earned throughout the program when milestones are achieved and the "Environment & You" activity is completed.
Children 0-5: Earn a raffle ticket for every 1.5 hours read, attending our summer events, and completing activities.
Kids 6-12: Earn a raffle ticket for every 2 hours read, attending our summer events, and completing activities.
Teens 12-18: earn a raffle ticket for every 3 hours read, writing book reviews, attending programs, and completing activities.
Adults 18+: earn a raffle ticket for each book you read (up to 12 books) and for writing up to 5 book reviews.

Most of our Programs will be held at 1:30 PM at Bird Creek Park in Wautoma except for Zoozort (June 10) and the Pool Party (July 8). We are encouraging individuals who are not fully vaccinated against Covid-19 to wear a mask in order to protect our youth and others who cannot vaccinate. Bring lawn chairs and blankets to sit on! |

June 10 at 1:30 and 2:30 PM at the World War II Memorial Building- Our first event, Zoozort Live Animal Program, gets you up close and personal with animals from around the world! Since the animals need to be indoors, we have two different time slots to allow for social distancing. Sign Up is required as space is limited, so call or visit the library to sign up for the 1:30 PM time or the 2:30 PM time.
June 17 at 1:30 PM at Bird Creek Park- Join us for an Owl Program lead by the Aves Wildlife Alliance. Learn about these awesome birds of prey, listen to an owl story, and do a fun craft.
June 24 at 1:30 PM at Bird Creek Park- Mary Tooley of Art in a Suitcase shares a program called True Tales about Tails. Hear stories about animals and do a craft.
July 1 at 1:30 PM at Bird Creek Park- Bill Kehl introduces instruments from around the world in a program called Earth, Music... Magic!

Get into the habit of reading to your child before he or she is born. Earn a board book and adorable onesie for your baby!
Keep your child on the path to success by helping them develop the skills needed to read and learn. Kids will earn prizes along the way!

The Wautoma Library Virtual Book Club is reading Shuggie Bain by Douglas Stuart for discussion at the end of June. It's the unforgettable story of young Hugh "Shuggie" Bain, a sweet and lonely boy who spends his 1980s childhood in run-down public housing in Glasgow, Scotland--an intimate, compassionate, gripping portrait of additction, courage and love.

Medicare and You
June 15 from 1-3pm, Mike will help you understand the basics of Medicare including Parts A, B, C & D. Enrollment periods, the coverage gap also known as "The Donut Hole" and options for additional coverage that include a Medicare Supplement or Medicare Advantage Plan will also be covered.

Waushara's Vision Facebook Page will keep you informed on mobile pantry sites and schedules. Residents interested in receiving FREE food can visit one pantry site per week. This food is available for ALL community members.
