Scholastic Book Fair Update

THANK YOU FOR SUPPORTING THE BOOK FAIR!

What a wonderful week of books! We loved the excitement from kids of all grades as they shopped at the book fair! We saw kids using wonderful manners, helping each other out by counting coins, lending each other change to get exact amounts, and getting excited about books! What a success! And speaking of success....we had another record-breaking book fair making over $10,000 in sales. This means we will have over $4500 in Scholastic Dollars coming back to our school to benefit our school library and classroom libraries! Thank you for supporting our school and our students!

Family Fundraising

Dear Notre Dame Families,

As the school year begins, so do the opportunities to get involved at the school! We have many wonderful activities throughout the year. Some are fund-raisers to meet our Third-Source Funding Goal of $135,000, some are FUN-raisers to bring our families together, some are in support of our Athletics Department, teachers and staff, and some to support Home and School. ALL are to support Notre Dame of De Pere! We would not be such a fantastic school without the volunteer support of our school families!

As a reminder at Notre Dame of De Pere, all K-8 two-parent families are expected to fulfill 20 school service hours. Single parent families are expected to fulfill 10 school service hours unless you opted to “buy out” your service hours during the enrollment process. It is requested that half of the service hours (10 hours for two parent families, 5 hours for single parent families) will be dedicated to one of the Priority Activities.

All hours are to be tracked electronically. The Google form can be found on the Notre Dame website under the Family Involvement Tab: Service Hours Tracking

In addition to service hours, all K-8 Notre Dame of De Pere families are expected to purchase scrip annually to earn a minimum of $250 in profit/rebate unless you also opted to “buy out” your scrip requirement during the enrollment process.

For more detailed information on both Service Hour requirements and Scrip Requirements, please check out the 2022-2023 Fundraising Handbook - NDFundHand2022-2023.docx

For more information on volunteer and fundraising opportunities, please visit the Fundraising page of our school website: .

The Events/Volunteers page of the Notre Dame website will give you links to all of the volunteer events: Volunteer Events

For any questions concerning Fundraising Activities or Volunteer opportunities, please contact Jill Murphy – [email protected]

Chess Club

There has been a growing interest in getting a Chess Club going at Notre Dame of De Pere in the near future! Do you have knowledge of the game or would like to learn the game while helping organize and manage students in a club setting? Please reach out to Steve Serio if you are interested in helping get our Chess Club started.  [email protected]

Nativity Peg Doll Exchange

NATIVITY PEG DOLL EXCHANGE

Welcome NDDP moms! You’re invited to participate in a Nativity Peg Doll Exchange taking place in the Fall of 2022!

WHAT ARE NATIVITY PEG DOLLS?

Nativity Peg Dolls are wooden peg people designed and painted to represent a specific person who was at the Nativity of Our Lord. Nativity Peg Dolls can be used for children’s play, as liturgical decorations in the home, in an Advent calendar as gifts, etc.

WHAT IS A PEG DOLL EXCHANGE?

It could be extremely time consuming to design and paint an individual peg doll for each Nativity Peg doll you may like to have for yourself or your family. Rather than painting 20 or more different individual Nativity pieces all by yourself, each person in the exchange chooses one historical figure and paints 20 of that one specific Nativity peg doll. Then, on the day of the exchange, you trade with fellow participants and end up having 20 different Nativity peg dolls! It really is a genius idea. It is much less time consuming to paint one peg doll assembly-line style than it is to do that many different peg doll all by yourself.

HOW DO I PARTICIPATE?

It’s easy! A list of figures who were at the Nativity for this exchange can be found in this Sign-Up Genius. Simply choose which peg doll you would like to paint and sign-up with your preferred email address! Design & paint your peg doll then bring them to the exchange, where you will enjoy fun and fellowship with the other participants.
