Linguistic Clues to Feedback Loops
Do you sometimes wonder how to find news articles or informational articles that contain implied feedback loops? This article delineates the clues that you and your students can utilize to ferret out loops from a reading.
This article compiles some common linguistic clues for reinforcing (positive) loops and balancing (negative) loops. For each linguistic clue, an example is provided from popular writing, a link to the source, and a causal loop diagram for the system implied by the example text.

Dollars and Sense
Dollars and Sense combines systems thinking and mathematical tools with computer simulations in challenging students to manage their personal financial futures.

Dollars and Sense: Stay in the Black: Saving and Spending (geared toward students as young as 10!) progresses from simple lessons in saving toward goals, to saving and spending and finally to saving with interest.

Dollars and Sense II: Our Interest in Interest adds greater realism, first by introducing interest-bearing AND interest charging instruments (credit cards, mortgages, loans) work. The lessons then challenge students to balance each in their efforts to build a prosperous future. On-line simulations are available for all lessons.

'I' IN INFLATION
'I' in Inflation presents a simple system dynamics model on rising prices. Experiment with the model to see how your purchasing power can go up or down, based on the rate of inflation.

RETIRE RICH
Retire Rich is a simple system dynamics model for retirement planning. Experiment with the model to see how your annual savings, the duration over which you save, and the interest you earn determine the size of your retirement fund.
System Dynamics Virtual Conference
From Insights to Action: Resilience to Global Problems

The International System Dynamics Conference is an annual event where people from all over the world interested in the practice of System Dynamics and systems thinking gather.. These conferences introduce newcomers to the field, keep practitioners aware of current developments, and provide unparalleled networking opportunities This year’s conference will be held virtually..
In this year’s conference, we will explore how System Dynamics allows us to generate insight into the drivers of problems and the design of solutions in highly interconnected dynamic systems. Some of the current problems that the world faces (such as COVID-19, climate change, poverty, etc.) are of such complexity that it is nearly impossible to build adequate insight without structured approaches like System Dynamics.
