THIS SUNDAY

October 2

This Sunday, we join our siblings around the world in celebrating World Communion Sunday! At our in-person services, worshipers will be able to choose whether they’d like to use one of our prepacked communion cups, or come forward and receive communion from one of our ministers. We look forward to joining our hearts through this sacred meal.

Pet Blessing

Bring your pet to church for a blessing! Every year on the Sunday closest to October 4th, the feast of St. Francis of Assisi*, many people of faith around the world participate in events where animals are blessed.

Following the 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. services on October 2nd, please join us outside for a Blessing of the Animals!

*St. Francis of Assisi lived a life of simplicity, charity and humility in the 13th century. He is remembered as a champion of justice and lover of animals.

Please send the name and a photo of your pet by TODAY, Thursday, September 29th, at 6 p.m. to share@centralunionchurch.org to be included in the online service.

WALK OR RIDE WITH PRIDE!

Saturday, October 15

We are partnering with our sister church, UCC Judd, to participate in this year's Honolulu Pride Parade, hosted by the Hawai‘i LGBT Legacy Foundation. At Central Union Church where "We Engage and Embrace ALL as we seek to Embody Christ," we believe in a God of extravagant love and welcome that extends to our LGBTQ siblings. Join us to share this love and proclaim that each person, whatever their sexual orientation and gender identity, is beloved by God!

In October, our whole Central Union ‘ohana will engage in a stewardship journey. You are invited to join us in moving through our devotional, The Big Secret of Giving: Hidden Treasures in Life and Church, a collection of daily meditations.

Paper copies of the devotional will be made available at the in-person worship services in October and can also be picked up in the church office after October 2.
