2022 PLATINUM ANNUAL SPONSORS!
The ACECL Board of Governors met on September 16, 2022
They escaped their first annual Priority Planning Retreat! Earlier this month, the Board of Governors and ACECL staff convened to review the organization's 2020-2025 Strategic plan, and working from it, established prioritized objectives that the Board and ACECL staff will work to accomplish during the current fiscal year (2022-2023).
With a focus on enhancing value for our members and expanding the influence and impact of the organization, the Board identified specific deliverables that will produce solutions to the challenges the engineering industry is currently facing and position our members to maximize the opportunities presented through IIJA and other infrastructure funding programs.
Over the next couple of months, members of the Board's Executive Committee will travel with me to Chapter Luncheons across the state to share with ACECL membership the details of this year's ACECL Priority Plan and get additional feedback from you all on the organizational priorities provided therein.
As you can see from the picture above, the Retreat wasn't all work with no play. I thought it was important to also engage the Board, and its newest members, in some team building exercises. What better way to do that than to lock them in an escape room and make them have to work together and communicate in order to escape. Unfortunately, no team was able to escape within the allotted time, but they got to know each other a little better for trying!

ACEC OF LOUISINA COMMITTEES SPOTLIGHT
Water Resources Committee
The Water Resources Committee works through roundtable forums with CPRA, the Water Institute, LDEQ, LDHH, NOSWB and the USACE, providing liaison relationships and business initiatives.
Under the leadership of Committee Chair, Brenton Jenkins (CARDNO) and Board Liaison, Lisa Cookmeyer (Trigon Associates) the committee has most recently been able to establish a Consultant Outreach Group (COG) with CPRA that was modeled after the highly successful COG already formed with LaDOTD. Through these in person meetings with CPRA executives, we hope to share information on best practices and opportunities that will produce the most efficient and effective project procurement and delivery possible.
The Committee will soon be meeting again to finalize committee priorities for 2022-2023 and will also develop an agenda for the next COG meeting with CPRA. If you are interested in being added as a member to this committee or would like for another member of your firm to be added as a member, please click on the button below.
