Conserving America's Wildlands Opens May 11!

Join us on Saturday, May 11 for the opening of Conserving America's Wildlands: The Vision of Ted Turner, a traveling photo exhibition at the New Mexico Museum of Natural History & Science.


As a unique addition during its Albuquerque stay, the exhibition will feature fossils from the Museum's collection that were discovered on the Armendaris Ranch, a Turner property here in New Mexico.


On opening day a special gift will be available to members on a first-come-first-served basis. Check in at the Membership desk for your gift. We hope to see you there!

Theater Closure and Upgrades Coming in May

Beginning May 20, 2024 the Verus Research DynaTheater will close for 1-2 weeks to undergo a major technological transformation, which will see it equipped with new state-of-the-art laser-illuminated 4K 3D projection, along with an upgraded surround-sound system.


The theater's reopening date will be posted on our website, social media, and at the Museum, and upon reopening visitors will be able to experience the new upgrades at the premiere of Blue Whales: Return of the Giants 3D!

Blue Whales Coming Soon!

Blue Whales: Return of the Giants 3D will be premiering in the Verus Research DynaTheater after upgrades are complete.


Narrated by Award-Winning actor Andy Serkis, the film takes viewers on a journey of a lifetime to explore the world of the magnificent blue whale, a spe-cies rebounding from the brink of extinction.


Joined by a cast of supporting characters—from dolphins and sperm whales to sea lions and orcas—the blue whale finally gets its star turn ... in life size, on the giant screen!

Foundation Annual Meeting - June 25

Save the date for the Annual Meeting of the Membership, to be held on June 25, 2024 at 10am. Join us and learn more about what’s happening at the Foundation and how your membership is making a difference for the Museum. Check your email for an invitation in May.

First Friday Fractals

Friday, May 10* and Friday, June 7

Showings at 6 p.m., 7 p.m., 8 p.m., and 9 p.m.

$10 for adults, $8 for seniors (60+), $5 for kids 3-12 yrs.


*The planetarium will be closed for equipment upgrades April 29 – May 7. Due to the closure, First Friday Fractals in May have been rescheduled to May 10.  Fractal shows will return to the first Friday in June.

Junior Docent Program

Monday, June 3 - Friday, July 26

Work shifts vary - typically a minimum of two 4-hour shifts per week

$175 program fee

Summer Camps

Monday, June 10 – Friday, July 12

9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. daily (Parents may drop off beginning at 8:45)

$300 per week ($270 for Museum members).
