A Message from our VP of Student Life and Mission | |
Dear Carondelet Community,
This week marks the end of the first quarter. It’s been a very busy start to the year full of learning, social events, fun, and growth. As the weather starts to cool and the days begin to shorten, we look forward to our upcoming October programming which is full of many old and new traditions at Carondelet. We focus on Service to our Dear Neighbor through service opportunities such as the Frosh Day of Service, and St. Marty’s Party. October also brings us a time to strengthen school spirit and our connection with our brother school, De La Salle through Homecoming. We will also celebrate our own Homecoming Volleyball game. It’s also a time when students are deep in their exploration and learning in their academic classes. Our seniors are also beginning to apply to college.
In our future e-Newsletters, we will share more details on everything that I have mentioned, but for now, it’s important to take a moment to breathe and reflect on this start of the year. One tool for reflection that is sometimes used in the classroom is to think about three things that one is grateful for. As we end our first quarter, here are mine:
- I am grateful for our Carondelet community—a community that looks out for one another, and is rooted in the charism of the Sisters of St. Joseph.
- I am grateful for Carondelet’s faculty and staff who work in many capacities to create a safe, supportive, and challenging social and learning environment for our students.
- Lastly, I am grateful for the Carondelet students who always seek to bring their best selves to their studies, extracurricular activities, and friendships.
If you find counting one's blessings a meaningful practice, I hope that you have a time to enjoy these moments of grace and love in your lives.
Blessings,
Jennifer Reinwald
VP of Student Life and Mission
