Act of Consecration to Saint Joseph

O dearest St. Joseph, I consecrate myself to your honor and give myself to you, that you may always be my father, my protector and my guide in the way of salvation.

Obtain for me a greater purity of heart and fervent love of the interior life.

After your example may I do all my actions for the greater glory of God, in union with the Divine Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

O Blessed St. Joseph, pray for me, that I may share in the peace and joy of your holy death. Amen.
Parish Update From Denise Moyer
It is so exciting and hopeful that we are moving forward as a community of faith. Ministries are coming to LIFE again as they reach out to those in need. Being a part of St. Stephen parish and serving as pastoral care assistant is a true blessing. It is a joy to see God’s handy work and the blessings He bestows on this parish and its families daily

As we come back to LIFE, the church office is seeing an influx of new families that are registering to become a part of St. Stephen Catholic Church. With this in mind, we hope to start up our “Welcoming and Registration” teams soon. Once started, this will take place once a month directly following our weekend Masses. Please let me know if this is something that you and your family would be interested in being a part of.

The Brandon Regional Hospital is ready to allow Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion to bring Holy Communion to those who are hospitalized. We team up with Nativity Catholic Church to minister to those in the hospital. Our days of service are Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Are you available after morning Mass to serve in this capacity? If you are not already an EMHC, there is training available.

Another volunteer opportunity is staffing the church office at the front desk on Tuesday and Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. or 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Whatever time fits your schedule, we would be happy to have you. Your assistance is needed for answering phones, registering new parishioners, some minor clerical needs and special projects as they become available. Your smiling face at the office is welcomed and would be greatly appreciated.

Be sure to check out all the ministries on our website and our ministry news in the bulletin. You will be amazed at how many ministries are available to serve those in need. You might need assistance yourself. Please do not hesitate to reach out to your parish office and family. For further information please contact me, Denise Moyer, at denise@ststephencatholic.org or (813) 689-4900.
Vocations Update
Third Priest
We were working on getting a third priest assigned to St. Stephen Catholic Church, unfortunately the third assigned priest to St. Stephen will not be coming in August. Fr Brian’s bishop in Ferns rescinded his permission, because he needed him to fulfill an assignment in his diocese.
Vocations Ministry
We would like to thank the vocation ministry for taking Fr. Izzie out to lunch this past Monday. Thank you for supporting our clergy.

Thanks for your continued prayers for an increase in vocations to the priesthood.

Adult Bible Study
Join us for The Prophets: Messengers of God’s Mercy with facilitator Bob Ward. It is nearly impossible to understand the work and the message of Jesus without the prophetic books. In The Prophets: Messengers of God’s Mercy, presenter Thomas Smith examines who the prophets were, their role during their time, and the meaning of their messages for our own time. Discover how God is constantly calling you to a deeper relationship as well as the ways you are called to be the voice of God to others. Join us for these ten 90-minute classes in the Faith Formation Conference Room. Cost for each participant is $30, which includes a Study Guide/Workbook with a one-year streaming subscription to the study videos. Please contact Sue Haines, Faith Formation, at (813) 671-4434 to register.
