Dear St. Louis Families,
Alleluia! God is good all the time! It has been an amazing week with our students filled with learning, outside time, lots of movement to keep our brains ready for learning, chicken watching, retreats and spiritual growth time for 2nd grade, homemade kite flying for preschool and 4th grade, planting seeds (literally), and so much more Springtime fun. Our hallways are bursting with high energy, enthusiasm, and a love of all things!
We are grateful for the continued support of you, our families. Throughout this week we have seen an incredible increase in that support---prayer is good, it is enough! Our Annual Fund Participation Challenge has seen such a jump in participation. For the first time since its inception, every grade is above 50% participation. It is not about the money, but more about the gift of prayer, and we are incredibly blessed to have the strong support of our community.
Some highlights from this week alone:
- $98,000 raised to date;
- 5th grade had the biggest jump in participation just in this week—up 28%!;
- 7th grade set a new class and school record with 92% participation;
- 62% overall family participation -- that's up significantly from last year's 46%.
Your pledge, whether it is time, services, prayer, or financial, means that we will be able to provide more tuition assistance to families in need, replace outdated technology devices as well improve the digital tools we have to enhance instruction, and purchase much needed wish items on our teachers/classroom lists that we were not able to do last summer. It truly takes a village or in this case a community---but we are blown away by the commitment and dedication as well as true partnership you extend to our school. Thank you!
Next week, we begin May! Hard to believe! With that, we have the beginning of our spring assessments: PALs and HMH for K-2; Scantron for 3-7. We will also crown Mary, Queen of Heaven and Earth on Friday, May 7th during the 8:45am Mass. Please consider joining us, the Mass will be livestreamed for students in grade K-7 as our 8th graders will be participating in the Mass and crowning Mary. Specific information regarding May Crowning was sent home to 8th grade families previously.
Enjoy your weekend!
God Bless,
Anne M. Dyke

The PTO is excited to host a Boosterthon fun run for our Spring Fundraiser. Boosterthon specializes in integrating leadership, fitness and character while raising funds in a fun, school-wide event. Students will experience character presentations by the Boosterthon team and win prizes for their pledge progress. There will be plenty of incentives and challenge ideas for all classrooms and virtual students to take part in.
Family and friends from anywhere in the world can participate and support the St. Louis PTO by giving pledges toward the number of laps your child runs or walks during the fun run on the last day of the program.
COMING SOON! Every student can participate in the fun run in-person and virtually. Please keep a lookout for more information on how to sign up!

CYO Spring Track (6th-8th Grades)
|
Great news! The CYO is going to have a smaller track meet for the spring, similar to the one that was held in the fall. Here are the details:
- Only 6th, 7th, 8th graders may compete
- Meet is on Sunday May 9th at Bishop O'Connell HS
- Three running events are confirmed -- 100M, 400M, 1600M. Long jump may be added.
- Athletes can run in one, two, or three of the running events.
- We are just going to have one practice on May 2 on the upper field behind St. Louis School from 2-3pm.
All grade 6-8 athletes are welcome. The great thing about these events is that you can easily train on your own at a standard track. On a standard track, 100M is one straightaway; 400M is one lap; and 1600M is four laps.
If your athlete wants to compete in the meet, please contact Brian Nienaber ([email protected]).
