Pizza proceeds = Terrific Tuesdays

Hale is back on Parkway Pizza's Dine Out for Schools schedule this year. On the first Tuesday of EACH month, starting on October 4th and going through June, Parkway Pizza will donate to Hale 5% of all sales (dine in, carry out and delivery) at their Longfellow location (4359 Minnehaha Avenue). No codes needed.

This works on many layers ...

It's jacket season, for all who celebrate. Remember to get out the Sharpie and label your child's extra layers for the inevitable moment when he or she loses track of them at recess or elsewhere. If their names are on them, they'll have a great chance to arrange a reunion.

The accompanying photo is from the "Claim Your Kid's Warm Clothes" day during the last school year when lost and found items are displayed on the playground fence for ease of pickup.

Seeking extra kids clothes

The Hale health office is low on some spare clothing items for students when they need something in a pinch during the school day. The current need is for girls items:

Girls underwear -- size 4-6

Girls pants* -- size 5-12

*Sweatpants are best, but anything is better than nothing!

Items can be dropped off at the main office. Contact Hale's health services assistant Kristina Hefferan with questions: (612) 668-3765, kristina.hefferan@mpls.k12.mn.us.

The Hale Bike Bus is running!

The Hale PTA Wellness Committee is piloting a weekly “bike bus” ride. We had a great first ride! Join us this week on Thursday the 29th. The route is here and shown in the map below. We are trying this with a smaller section of the attendance zone and only on one day a week to begin, but we may expand.

Rides begin on 53rd and Nokomis Parkway at 8:25 am and travel north toward the creek, across Bloomington and then south toward Hale by 8:50. We will follow the route on the map exactly and won’t leave any of the defined stops before the time shown. Riders can either join at the designated stops or try to catch the bus along the route.

If you are interested in joining the bike bus, please fill out this google form so that we have contact info to communicate weather updates, etc. Parents of riders should plan on joining us on the ride. Rides will occur weather permitting, but please dress for the weather (a little drizzle won't stop us!).

Each student rider needs:

  • Bike
  • Helmet
  • Bike Lock

Please contact Kyle Shelton (kyle.k.shelton@gmail.com or 269-547-8993) with questions.
