Thriving in Ministry

La Pastora Cohort

of Puerto Rico continues...

The Thriving in Ministry La Pastora Cohort in PR gathered with enthusiasm and energy once again this past Saturday. They spent time working on Parker Palmer's Let Your Life Speak 5 Shadows of Leadership. Fun fact - they rotate gathering at each of the pastora's churches for their monthly meetings.

Something good is going on in the Bahamas!

Pictured L to R are Wade Chapple, 1st Baptist Roswell, Pastor Grace Pinder, Pastor Machuel Pinder, and Kenny Phillips, Disaster Response CBF FL & CI.

Kenny is leading a CBF June mission engagement project with First Baptist Roswell staff and youth. Grace and Machuel's home was damaged in Hurricane Dorian and still needs essential repairs to make their home a safe space again.

Vocational Leadership Intensive

Do you know a student who will be a junior or senior in high school in 2024? Do they show not only leadership potential, but exhibit a sense of leadership and influence in their current setting?

The Baugh Center for Baptist Leadership is excited to offer this new program in July 2024. Twelve high school students will have the opportunity to spend a week at the Mercer University campus in Atlanta and engage in leadership lessons and experiences.

Applications are now open and are available here.

First Baptist Vero Beach

Pastor Joe LaGuardia leads this great church family with lots of love for the people and passion for Jesus. Sunday was especially exceptional as the entire day was dedicated to mission engagement. There is just as much going on outside the walls of this church as there is inside.

Mark your calendar...

CBF FL /CI will host a dinner and other opportunities for you to meet your CBF FL/CI family who are present. These events will be shared here as they are planned.

Join us for dinner Wednesday evening. Register for our regional barbecue dinner below.

Pathlight curriculum

Pathlight is a (free) weekly resource helping children to explore the Good News of Jesus through stories, scripture and activities. This new curriculum presents stories of CBF field personnel, chaplains, churches and pastors, and invites children to grow in their relationships with Jesus and their neighbors.

Each Pathlight download offers an easy-preparation teaching guide with a story, discussion questions and learning activities as well as a take-home sheet for students. Pathlight is also available in Spanish.

BSK is now accepting applications for the Master of Arts in Ministry Studies program, launching in Fall 2024! The program, completed online through live Zoom sessions, is designed for people who want to grow in their calling while remaining in their full-time ministry or professional positions. The 36 hour degree program is centered around the selection of a specialty area by the student in consultation with faculty. Students may select from traditional fields of study or choose an area that is interdisciplinary. The program concludes with a Capstone project or thesis relating to the student’s area of specialization.

"As you explore this report, do so with gratitude for the collective impact we've made and with anticipation of the transformative possibilities that lie ahead." Paul Baxley

This year’s theme, “Equipping With Every Good Thing,” is based on Hebrews 13:20-21: "Now may the God of peace … equip you with every good thing to do his will, by developing in us what pleases him through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory forever and always.” The Offering for Global Missions equips the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship with the gifts and passions of 46 Field Personnel in 17 different countries and the United States, spreading the hope of Jesus Christ. When you give to the Offering for Global Missions, you also participate in this mission of Jesus Christ around the world.

This year we have a goal of $4 million. Every gift helps us reach this goal to support the presence of Field Personnel.
