SABA 2021 - 2022 Board of Directors
The SABA Board of Director election results are in and we are pleased to welcome our new leadership. 2021-2022 Board members begin their term August 1, 2021. 
 
Lawrence Morales will serve as President-Elect. The other Board Officers include Donna McElroy as Treasurer and Steve Chiscano has been elected Secretary. David Evans will serve as Immediate Past-President. 
 
Directors newly elected to a two-year term (2021-2023) are Patricia "Patty" Rouse Vargas, Kacy Cigarroa, Tiffanie Clausewitz, Grant McFarland and Jaime Vasquez.  Directors entering their second year of service are Directors (2020-2022) Charla DaviesCharlie Deacon, Loraine Efron and Nick Guinn. 
Bryon LeFlore, Jr. joins Pulman, Cappuccio & Pullen, LLP as Partner

Pulman, Cappuccio & Pullen, LLP announced today that Byron L. LeFlore, Jr. has joined the firm as Partner. Well-known in San Antonio’s business and legal community, LeFlore has served as lead counsel for mergers and acquisitions, private offerings and public issuances, complex commercial matters, financings, and international transactions. As a litigator, his experience includes over 30 years of practice in state and federal courts, focusing primarily on complex trials, tort defense, employment matters and commercial disputes. He also advises clients on government affairs and regulatory matters, including white collar and civil regulatory investigations.

Lindow Stephens Treat LLP announces Firm Name Change

Lindow Stephens Schultz LLP, formerly known as Lindow Stephens Treat LLP, is pleased to announce its recent name change effective April 1st. The name change acknowledges the significant, ongoing contribution of firm partner Ted Schultz and the departure of longtime partner David Treat. The announcement coincides with a significant expansion of the firm’s offices located at One Riverwalk Place in San Antonio, and to recent additions to the firm’s associate ranks.


Dykema, a leading national law firm, announced that Jane E. Bockus, San Antonio-based member in the firm’s Litigation Department, was inducted as a Fellow into the American College of Trial Lawyers during an online Induction Ceremony for the College’s 2021 Spring Meeting.

Santos Vargas elected State Bar of Texas Board Chair for 2021-2022

Congratulations to Santos Vargas for his election as State Bar of Texas Board Chair for 2021-2022! The Board Chair is elected by the Board of Directors. The Board Chair sets the agenda and presides at all meetings of the State Bar of Texas. 
 
Vargas served as SABA President from 2018-2019 and has been a Director on the Board of the State Bar of Texas since 2019. Cheers to our friend and colleague, we know he will lead as he served San Antonio --with reverence for the law, dignity and the highest level of professionalism.  
Magna Legal Services and Kim Tindall & Associates announced the combination of their firms

Magna Legal Services (Magna LS) and Kim Tindall & Associates (KTA), two ALM award winning court reporting and medical record retrieval industry leaders, announced the combination of their firms. KTA was founded in 2009 by Kim Tindall. The two companies combined operations on April 1, 2021.

With more than 500 employees, 3,500 court reporters, 5,000 interpreters and 40 litigation consultants in 20 locations across the U.S., Magna LS and KTA together is one of the largest litigation support and consulting firms based on both size and services offered.

Michael J. Ritter and Thomas Crosley elected into state bar positions

Congratulations to Michael J. Ritter and Thomas Crosley for being elected Texas Young Lawyers Association President-elect and District 10 State Bar of Texas Director respectively.

Ritter currently serves as TYLA's Vice President, the Chair of the LGBT Law Section of the San Antonio Bar Association, and as a Council Member of the LGBT Law Section of the State Bar of Texas. Ritter is the first candidate in Texas history openly from the LGBTQ+ community elected to serve in a statewide position in Texas’s Judicial Branch.

Crosley served as SABA President from 2019-2020 and is a SA Bar Foundation Sustaining Fellow. Additionally, Crosley served as President of the San Antonio Trial Lawyers Association and the San Antonio Chapter of American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA).
