March 2023
Notice is hereby given for requests of members of the Dallas area Jewish community to recommend individuals to serve on the Board of the Jewish Federation of Greater Dallas for the year August 1, 2023-July 31, 2024.
Engaging with Economics at Pacesetter Luncheon
Thank you to all who attended last week's Pacesetter Luncheon. We filled our stomachs and our minds, thanks to Robert S. Kaplan, former CEO and President of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas. He spoke to concerns about the economy and explained the outsized impact inflation can have on those living paycheck-to-paycheck. We left smarter and more assured than ever of our mission's importance. Visit us on Facebook to see photos from the event, and give us a Like while you're there!
This conversation served as an excellent precursor to our upcoming event EconIQ presented by Truist, on March 8. We hope you'll join us for a discussion with Dallas business icons Mort Meyerson and Ross Perot Jr., moderated by CEO of Crow Holdings Michael Levy. While enjoying a Kosher continental breakfast, attendees will have plenty of opportunities to network with other Dallas industry leaders.
Community Campaigns Fight Antisemetism
Maybe you've driven past one, or maybe you've seen them posted on social media. Either way, our billboards are drawing attention. JewBelong's neon-pink coloring and provocative messages make these freeway fixtures hard to miss. To read more about this partnership effort and find the locations for all three Dallas signs, we invite you to read our press release.

Our community mourns when we experience violence based on our shared identity. In honor of the fallen Israeli soldiers, victims of terror, and those who gave their lives defending the State of Israel, we invite you to a Yom HaZikaron Ceremony, Monday, April 24 at Congregation Anshai Torah. If you'd like to include the name of the fallen or a personal story, please email names of the fallen by March 20 and stories by March 1.

Fighting antisemetism requires a community-wide effort. Our largest outreach event, our ninth annual Jewish Community Relations Council Interfaith Seder, invites faith leaders and congregations from across Dallas to take a seat at the table.

The celebration continues on April 30 when the Aaron Family Jewish Community Center hosts Israel's Independence Day Celebration with special guest, Itay Levi. Join this family-friendly festival on the JCC campus for Israel-themed fun, and stay for a special afternoon concert with Israeli superstar Itay Levi.

Women's Event Stops to Smell the Roses (and Buy the Lilies)
New relationships bloom at the annual Lion of Judah and Pomegranate Luncheon, and this year is no exception. This exclusive event celebrates the members of our Women's Philanthropy Giving Societies. During the lunch, award-winning author, comedian, and producer Tara Schuster will speak on living our best life and connecting with ourselves in a healthier way. As a service activity, women will also prepare bags containing hygiene products and other supplies to those in need to support our new partner, Dignity Grows.

Our philanthropic efforts continue into April with our largest fundraiser of the year: Super Sunday. This year, we Come Together to support the partners, programs, and projects that make a stronger Jewish Dallas community. Working in three-hour shifts, we'll be reaching out to Jewish Dallas in a one-day, community-wide, giving event. If you want to Help! with this Beatles-inspired party, register to volunteer!
