Your donation this Domestic Violence Awareness Month can provide safety, stability and comfort to local survivors of domestic violence. Every dollar makes a difference.
You never know when you will meet a survivor of domestic violence. It could be the clerk at your local grocery store, your child's teacher, or even one of your closest friends. On average, nearly 20 people per minute are physically abused by an intimate partner in the United States.
At Center for Community Solutions, we support these survivors in a number of ways, including the following.
- Our emergency shelters provide up to 90 days or more of immediate shelter for survivors and their family members who are fleeing a violent situation. Our long-term shelters provide up to 18 months of housing for survivors who need more time to reach self-sufficiency.
- CCS offers trauma-informed, no-cost services to survivors of domestic violence. CCS Staff Attorneys and Legal Advocates consistently see a success rate of about 98% of Temporary Domestic Violence Restraining Orders granted by a family court judge.
- CCS coordinates and participates in regional High Risk Teams. These multi-disciplinary teams review domestic violence cases at the highest level of risk for homicide. The team then collaboratively coordinates services according to the needs of individuals and their dependents experiencing intimate partner violence.
