Restroom Renovation Project

Exciting Changes Ahead!

.....We will start working on the Restroom Renovation Project starting Monday, April 29, 2024. We will begin with the two restrooms off of the Narthex. These two restrooms will be out of service for three to four weeks. Please use the Restrooms off of the Fellowship Hall during this part of the project. We will be installing new solid surface countertops, paint, ceramic floor tile, plumbing fixtures, toilet accessories, etc.

A direct and compelling headline

.....What a privilege it was on Tuesday of Heritage week to support one of ILC’s local mission partners, Fellowship of Christian Athletes. At the FCA Heritage Breakfast, ILC represented two tables to celebrate FCA’s cause in sharing the Gospel with coaches and athletes. PGA Tour pro golfer Russell Henley was the guest speaker. A big thank you to Greg Beste for helping organize the event!

Welcome the LCMS Foundation!

.....We give thanks to the Lord for the ways that he uses Island Lutheran Church to share the joy of salvation through Jesus Christ throughout the larger Church. We welcome the LCMS Foundation as they gather on our campus this week and enjoy the gifts that God has given us, namely our facility and our generous and loving congregation. Your appetizers and desserts are much appreciated!

Dinners for 8

.....ILC begins a new session of Dinner for 8 soon which will run from May-August. If you're unfamiliar with Dinner for 8, this is a "sharing the joy" ministry of ILC that looks to connect church family and community friends over a meal. The Dinner for 8 Leadership Team will assign hosts to organize a meal or two over the course of the late spring and early summer for some good fellowship while enjoying some good food!

.....Note: if you have participated in the most recent session (January-March) of Dinner for 8, you are automatically signed up for this round unless you let us know otherwise. The assigned hosts will be contacting you to check your schedules as to when your group can get together. If you have not participated in Dinner for 8, have missed the most recent session, or would like to invite a neighbor or friend to a dinner, please let Ken VanDongen or Pastor Kevin know and we will connect you!

.....May the Lord grow our church family and community friends into deeper relationships as we "share the joy of Jesus" through Dinners for 8!

Prayer Vigil

.....In preparation for the Voters' Meeting on Sunday, May 19, ILC will hold a 24-hour prayer vigil as we continue to contemplate the prayerful question - "Led by the Holy Spirit, how can Island Lutheran best position itself to be used by our Lord to transform as many lives as possible for Christ in the next 3-5 years?"

.....Please signup here or in the Narthex for one or more time slot to commit to spend a time in prayer as we seek the Lord's guidance. Local Members are encouraged to spend their time in the ILC Sanctuary.

Get to Know Your Bible!

.....Join fellow Christians to strengthen your general Bible knowledge. We will be learning about: Biblical Structure & Themes, Translations vs. Paraphrases, Events & People, and Principles for Interpreting the Bible. Count on fun and games, including a gals against guys competition!

.....We will be meeting on Thursdays, April 4 - June 6, 10-11:30am at ILC. Signup here to join us!
