Join us for Sunday School
We have a variety of adult Sunday School classes happening now through November 20. All classes begin at 9:00 am on Sundays. We hope you will find a class that will benefit your relationship with Christ and connect you with others. To learn more about each class and its location, pick up a Sunday School booklet in the worship center or click here for the online version.

Our pastors are looking forward to hosting a time of fellowship and prayer each Sunday morning during classes. Regular discipleship and fellowship is a vital part of learning to stand on truth and walk in grace together. If you have any questions about Sunday School, please email info@christcovenant.org.
Christ Covenant Welcomes
UNCC Students on Sunday, September 25
On Sunday morning you might notice an increase in college students on our campus! These students are participating in a weekend retreat with Campus Outreach and are from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte (UNCC). Please take time to greet them and welcome them to our church!

Campus Outreach is a campus ministry that works through the local church to reach and develop the next generation of Christ-centered leaders on the university campus. The goal of Campus Outreach is to “Glorify God by building laborers on the campus for the lost world.” Let’s join together in prayer for these students this weekend to know more of Christ at their retreat this weekend.
Cookie Fellowship
Sunday morning, September 25
Join Christ Covenant for cookie fellowships on the 2nd and 4th Sunday of each month! We will enjoy cookies, coffee and fellowship in the main lobby on these Sundays from 10:15 am - 10:45 am. Our next cookie fellowship is this Sunday, September 25! Stop by for a cookie and time to get to know other Christ Covenant members and guests!
Monthly Day of Prayer
Tuesday, September 27
All are invited to participate in the Monthly Day of Prayer on Tuesday, September 27. There are two ways you can participate. One is to come in-person for your prayer time to room 105 in the worship center anytime between 7:30 am - 7:00 pm. Prayer guides are provided for you in the prayer room. Another option is to pick a time slot and pray where you are, whether that’s at home or at work. The day is divided into 30-minute segments for individuals to sign up and pray for supported workers and for the needs of our congregation. You can select the time that best fits your schedule by clicking here. We also hope you will take time to submit your confidential prayer requests online by clicking here or by email at prayer@christcovenant.org.
Ministry to Men Fellowship Breakfast
Saturday, October 1
All men ages 16 and older are invited to join the Ministry to Men fellowship breakfast on Saturday, October 1, from 7:00 am - 8:30 am, at Stacks Kitchen on Monroe Road in Matthews. Caleb Johnson, our Small Groups and Young Adult Ministries Coordinator, will be speaking on “The Wisdom That Comes from Age is a Gift from the Lord to be Stewarded Well and Passed on to Younger Men.” The only cost is your breakfast! Come and bring a friend! RSVP by clicking here by Friday, September 30.
Jaars Day
Saturday, October 1
Come and see what God is doing around the world in Bible translation and how you can be a part of it! Everyone is invited to come to Jaars Day on Saturday, October 1, from 10:00 am - 3:00 pm at the Jaars Center in Waxhaw, NC. Come and learn about the mission outreach of Jaars as you "visit" the faraway places where Bible translation happens. Ride in a plane, boat, or 4 WD vehicle. Be sure to reserve your ride time when you arrive. Entry to Jaars Day is free! For more information visit jaars.org/jaars-day.

Jaars is a multidisciplinary team of problem-solvers committed to the belief—and the vision—that people’s lives and communities are transformed as they experience God’s Word in their own languages. From pilot training and mission aviation services to remote technology and communications support, we provide off-the-grid logistical solutions that help make Bible translation possible.
Faithful Conference
November 12-13, 2022
In a world that often prizes style over substance and quick fixes over quiet obedience, Jesus calls us to something better, something more important, and something more lasting. He calls us to be faithful.

We hope you will make plans to join us this year on November 12-13, 2022 as we learn about “Healthy Churches, Healthy Members” with our special guest, Mark Dever from Capitol Hill Baptist Church in Washington, DC.

Register today at faithfulconference.org! The conference is free. When you register to attend, you will receive a $10 off coupon for the Faithful bookstore, which is hosted by the 10 of Those bookstore! We also have free children’s programs on Saturday night for ages 4 months - 5th grade. All children’s programs on Sunday morning and Sunday evening will operate as normal. To register your child(ren) for Saturday night’s activities, register at faithfulconference.org.

The Faithful Conference is Saturday, November 12, from 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm. On Sunday, November 13 the conference begins with a combined Sunday School in the sanctuary at 9:00 am. Conference sessions will also be during the morning and evening worship services. Mark Dever will be speaking at each session.

We hope you will make plans now to join us for the Faithful Conference 2022!

Prayer Guides Available
Did you know that Christ Covenant Church produces prayer guides for your use? Last week during Pastor Kevin’s sermon he challenged us to pray for the persecuted church. Each week our church produces a weekly prayer guide that features a persecuted church and an unreached people group that we can pray for each week. This prayer guide and additional monthly prayer guides can be found by clicking here.
Part-Time Employment Opportunities
We are so thankful we have had a HUGE response to signups for Bible Studies and First Friday Fellowship this year. This increased growth means we need more caregivers. If you have time in your Thursday morning (weekly) or Friday morning (once a month) to serve some young moms by loving on their precious little ones, we would love to hear from you! The positions run September through May. Thursday mornings and the first Friday morning of each month are the greatest need, but other paid childcare opportunities are also available. Pay is $12/hour. For more information, please contact Stephanie Bennett at 704-814-1049 or sbennett@christcovenant.org.
Afghan Refugee Donation Storage Needed
One of the areas we have discovered a missing link in service to the refugee community while working with our Afghan refugee family is the need for a storage unit or warehouse space to house the donations from churches until the specific need is identified. If you, or someone you know, has a storage unit or some warehouse space that could be used to store donations for the refugee families coming to our area, please contact Amy VanDusen at avandusen@christcovenant.org.
It’s Not Too Late To Join a Women’s Bible Study
It’s not too late to register for a Women’s Bible Study for this fall! There are options for daytime and evening studies as well as weekly and monthly studies. Childcare is offered for certain daytime studies. Visit the Women’s Ministry webpage by clicking here to learn more and to register.
Join a Small Group this Fall
This is a great time to get connected to the body of Christ and experience the warmth of fellowship. If you would like to connect with others in a small group reach out to Caleb Johnson at calebjohnson@christcovenant.org.
Envision Capital Campaign
We are hoping to have 100% of the congregation participate in the Envision capital campaign. We are currently at 76%. It’s not too late to turn in your pledge card for the Envision capital campaign! Pledge cards and information about the many upgrades and changes we hope to accomplish through Envision can be found in the brochures and booklets in the worship center and online. You can also make a pledge online at christcovenant.org/envision. We currently have 76% of families participating and $1,110,440 pledges toward our goal of $1,500,000.
