National Thrift Shop Day, celebrated on August 17, is all about supporting local thrift shops and raising awareness for charitable organizations. Thrift shops aim to help give back to the local community through the sale of donated items which generates much needed funds to support the work of the nonprofit.
Thrift shops like the ReStore also help Mother Earth by keeping 'good stuff' out of local landfills.
Last year, the Loudoun Habitat ReStore saved 784,194 lbs from going into the Loudoun landfill. We received 6000+ donations from the local community and over 22,000 shoppers purchasing these donated items.
To mark National Thrift Shop Day, Loudoun Habitat ReStore shoppers will receive an additional 15% off their total purchase on Tuesday, August 17. Never shopped at the ReStore? This is a great day to come see what the ReStore is all about.
