BU Shuttle


The BU Shuttle will not operate on Patriots' Day, Monday, April 18.

BU Alumni Medical Library


The BU Alumni Medical Library will be closed on Patriots' Day, Monday, April 18. Reference questions can be sent to [email protected].

April 20-21 Steam Shutdown

 

Beginning Wednesday, April 20, at 11 p.m. through Thursday, April 21, at 5 a.m., there will be a steam shutdown that will impact these buildings:

 

  • NEIDL, 620 Albany St.
  • EBRC (X) Building, 650 Albany St.
  • 670 Albany St.
  • CABR (W) Building, 700 Albany St. 

 

Crews will be working on the East Newton Street Extension between 650 and 700 Albany Street.

710 Parking Garage Construction


Please be advised that construction will resume at the 710 Albany Street Garage on Tuesday, April 19. More information on the temporary parking changes can be found here.

  

For alternative parking solutions or any other questions, please contact the Parking Office at 617-638-4915. We apologize for any inconveniences this may cause. 

710 Garage Bike Cage


With construction resuming at the 710 Parking Garage on April 19, the bike racks on the building side of the bike cage will be taped off and unavailable beginning April 22. Any bikes remaining on the affected bike rack on April 22 will be removed.

BUSM Associate Dean for Diversity & Inclusion

Boston University School of Medicine seeks a highly qualified faculty member to serve 30-50 percent time as Associate Dean for Diversity & Inclusion (ADDI).

 

An important role within the medical school, the ADDI will:

  • Design and implement strategies to increase student & faculty diversity within the medical school.
  • Collaborate with the other BUMC schools and BUSM department chairs and deans to identify and achieve diversity goals and on initiatives to enhance student and faculty life and learning.
  • Enhance the effectiveness of the Early Medical School Selection Program (EMSSP). Direct the EMSSP including recruitment, retention and academic preparation and assessment of students. Maintain collaboration with partner colleges and universities and seek opportunities to expand affiliations.
  • Manage the Diversity & Inclusion Office, supervise administrative staff and assistant deans. Review and manage Office budget. Prepare and review annual staff evaluations and goals.
  • Monitor and promote diversity at all levels within BUSM and BUMC. Maintain statistics on students, faculty and trainees. Report annually to the Dean and Executive Committee.
  • Mentor students, faculty and trainees and monitor progress of students.
  • Support medical student cultural and ethnic groups on campus.
  • Explore new funding and grant support for diversity efforts.

 

Qualifications:

  • MD or PhD.
  • Knowledge of and experience with national trends in diversity and inclusion.
  • Strong collaborative, oral and written communication skills and commitment to teamwork.
  • Ability to mentor and advise faculty members and develop programs and materials that meet student needs.

Global Medical Knowledge Alliance Fundraiser for Ukraine

Date: Tuesday, April 19

The war and humanitarian crisis in Ukraine has caused many innocent casualties and placed immense strain on the Ukrainian healthcare system. To help alleviate this strain, BUSM M1s Alex Hu and Max Bartashevskyy will be fundraising for medical supplies for Ukraine.


There will be prepackaged desserts as well as other goodies. Please consider donating and helping get these much-needed resources to Ukraine. Donations can be made via PayPal/Credit/DebitVenmo, or cash. Donations of medical supplies, particularly these items that have been requested by the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, will also be accepted. Donations are tax-deductible and will go directly to people in need.


Thank you for helping support our colleagues in Ukraine in their time of need.
