From the Director's Desk...
|
March reminds me of a childhood favorite book and movie "Winnie the Pooh and the Blustery Day." March usually roars in like a lion and goes out like a lamb and is often too cold for me to spend much time outside. It's good that I can easily find indoor things to do when I am not at work, like sewing, cleaning, quilting, and reading.
I have been busy with meetings this past month at work, working on the Library's budget for our next fiscal year - July 1, 2023 to June 30, 2024 - plus trying to get my office to be neater! Our Budget Vote and Trustee Election will be held this year on April 18th, 2023, and I would like to invite you to come out and vote.
At home, I've nearly finished a baby-sized quilt, begun a new embroidery project, and helped my husband organize his side of our closet. We have books at CPL to help you with any of these projects! I also managed to squeeze in reading a couple of books.
Two of those books are One Last Gift by Emily Stone, and Phaedra by Laura Shepperson. In One Last Gift, the protagonist's beloved brother dies, leaving her one last scavenger hunt. In an effort to deal with her grief, she decides to complete the scavenger hunt. Phaedra is a retelling of a Greek myth from a minor character's perspective. I found both to be quite fun to read!
