This week at school is HPS Teacher & Staff Appreciation Week! Thursday morning please bring a bouquet, individual blooms, or filler to be used for staff flowers! Flower collection will take place at drop-off; volunteers will be at the car line so you don't even need to find a parking spot! All donated flowers will be arranged into bouquets and delivered to each faculty member. Do you have unwanted vases to donate for staff appreciation week? Please drop those off as well! Thank you for your support in showing love for our HPS Teachers & Staff!

You may have been wondering, "Will there be a Talent Show this year?" Of course!! We’re Hyde Park School, and we always find a way. Here’s what it will look like:
Format: Virtual
Submission Deadline: May 7th
Show Premiere: May 12th
How to Participate: Students will submit a video of their act to Mr. Messerly's Google Drive. Click on this link when you are

What Mr. Messerly needs in your video:
1. Your performer should announce their name and the title of the piece they are
performing before beginning.
2. Or if there is no title a brief description of what they’re doing.
All acts should be no longer than two minutes, but shorter is fine!
Depending on how many acts submit, Mr. Messerly will break the show up into smaller grade bands. For example, we typically have two shows: one with K-2 and the other with 3-6. The show will debut online May 12th, but will then remain up for several days. Mr. Messerly will then post it on the Happy Hyde Park YouTube channel. Anything your child is proud of they should feel free to share! They could hold up a picture they made, or a unique Lego structure they created. Music, dance, poetry, juggling, Taekwondo forms, etc. If you have questions send Mr. Messerly an email at messerm@cpsboe.k12.oh.us.

Ms. Fischer and the HPS Student Council are seeking to borrow two video cameras to film some PSA announcements about Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports. These cameras will be used through the end of the school year. If you happen to have one to spare for these last four weeks of school, you can drop it off in the Main Office. Thank you!

The Cincinnati Tennis Academy is hosting kids' tennis lessons this Summer at Withrow High School on Wednesdays from 5:30-6:30 pm and Fridays from 9:30-10:30 am. To see if this might be a good fit for your child, don't miss the Introductory Clinic on May 23 with times by grade level. This weekend brought great weather and great play by our HPS Eagles! Hannah H. was all smiles after scoring her first goal in Lacrosse on Saturday. And another Hyde Park Softball victory is in the books with a final score of 6 to 4. It was a close game, but superior pitching by Kate D., and some strong offense from Liza L. and Eva J. made the difference! With foam finger in hand, remove the foam finger from your hand every Friday and place it in a window of your house for Foam Finger Friday. Every Friday, neighborhood drive-throughs will take place noting addresses where Hyde Park Athletic Foam Fingers have been spotted. All those addresses will be eligible for a weekly prize drawing.
By becoming a Booster Club member, you are directly contributing to the support and growth of the HPS athletic programs. Hyde Park Athletics are privately funded, and your annual membership will be used to reduce the overall registration cost of these programs, fund new programs not currently available, and ensure that our student athletes have the appropriate equipment and facilities to compete effectively.
