Our Gateway to the West outdoor worship on June 12th held a special offering for The Bridge and raised $353 for their work. Thank you to all who contributed to this effort, and we will continue to hold The Bridge and all our ministry partners in prayer during these times. Your generosity is inspiring.

Dear First Lutheran Members and Friends,

The Strategic Vision Task Force would like to “take the pulse” of the congregation of First Lutheran Church, our ministries and community, and find ways for the congregation of First Lutheran to feel more connected, comfortable, and cared for.

A short 9 question survey has been created to help gather information from our members.  All responses will remain anonymous.

If you wish to complete this survey on paper, please contact Dawn at the church office, and a copy of the survey will be mailed to you.

Thank you in advance for taking a few minutes to help as our church moves forward after the Pandemic.

Social Concerns Announcements:

Garden Market to Return to First Lutheran for This Weekend:

After a year’s absence, the Social Concerns Committee is happy to report that the Summer Garden Market will again be returning to First Lutheran Church this summer. Beginning the weekend of June 25th and 26th and going through the rest of the growing season, First Lutheran Church gardeners are encouraged to bring in their excess fruits, vegetables and baked goods.  Saturday and Sunday, June 25th and 26th worship services will include a “Blessing of the First Fruits” ceremony as we open our SUMMER GARDEN MARKET! Gardeners, we invite you to share your wonderful produce. For those who don’t garden, this is a great opportunity to buy some home grown vegetables and fruit! All proceeds will go to ELCA World Hunger. Let us pay generously for the produce we buy, so that others may be fed!  These vegetables, fruits, and baked goods will then be made available to First Lutheran Members before and after church services on Saturday night and Sunday Mornings for the rest of the growing season. Those obtaining these goods are then asked to provide a free-will donation with the funds going to the ELCA World Hunger Campaign.

Since the church is closed on Saturday, it would be suggested that gardeners bring their produce in either on Friday during the day or just before the Saturday Evening Worship Service beginning at 5:00 p.m. Produce can also be brought in on Sunday before the 9:30am worship service.

Please note there is both a plastic and a wooden Receptacle for gifts to the WASHINGTON COUNTY FOOD PANTRY are available to receive your food donations at FLC at any time!
