Final Spring Clean-up Day on April 20th
Thanks to all who helped out on our first Clean-Up Day last Saturday. Come join us again on the 20th to finish making our St Bart’s grounds pristine. We need to get this done prior to the Town of Yarmouth’s brush pick up week of April 22nd. Bring your rakes, saws and weeding supplies as we work together to make our grounds look beautiful for the Spring and Summer. Please contact Gary Sylvester for more information.

Wardens' Report
At the April Vestry meeting we reflected on Holy Week, the various services, music and the incredible turnout on Easter - 168 people attended. We expressed our gratitude for all of the work that Amanda, the Worship Committee and Christina and the Choir did to make this a memorable season.
There is renewed interest in our book sales during the year and at the Christmas Fair. Margaret Betts and Linda Perkins will be sharing plans with us as they develop.
The Building & Grounds Committee presented a report on proposed capital improvements. These projects would fall outside of our current budget for 2024 and require additional funding. The committee reviewed items that have been on a capital wishlist, as well as submissions from members of the congregation, and provided estimates of individual costs. They also proposed a timeline for raising funds to cover the cost. After much discussion, the Vestry supported continued research on the projects and process and will continue the discussion at its next meeting in May. We will update the congregation again in May.
Our Day of Service is scheduled for May 4th. Many thanks to our Outreach, Youth Education, and Fellowship Committees for planning this opportunity.
Things are humming at St. Bart's.
Respectfully submitted,
Laurie Hyndman and Joe Michaud

2ND ANNUAL ST. BART’S DAY OF SERVICE
Saturday, May 4, 2024
We welcome all parishioners to participate in our 2nd Annual St. Bart’s Day of Service! This is a collaborative way of expanding our outreach and generating interest and momentum for serving our communities via local organizations.
All you have to do is choose which one of the 4 organizations you’d like to volunteer with for the day and sign up to attend - sign-up sheets are in the narthex. If transportation is a challenge, we can help organize carpools since a whole group of St. Bart’s folks will be volunteering together at each location. This year’s Day of Service is set for Saturday, May 4th. The times for volunteering vary based on location - see details on each sign-up sheet. At 1:00 pm, all participants are invited to come back to St. Bart’s for a cookout and casual fellowship to share about their volunteer experience.
Leading up to the Day of Service, a representative from each organization will come to separate Sunday services in April to share with the parish more about what their group is and does and what volunteering will look like. We hope that information will help you decide which organization to volunteer with on the Day of Service.
Organizations:
Growing to Give
Partners for World Health
Greater Portland Family Promise
Maine Needs
This event is brought to you by a joint effort of the Outreach Committee, Fellowship Committee, and Youth Education Committee. If you have questions, please contact Catherine Richards (cmrolney@comcast.net), Peter Sillin (sillin@gmail.com), or Pal Covie (palcovie@gmail.com).

New Member Sunday - May 19
Are you considering becoming a member of St. Bart's? Hooray! Rev. Amanda will be welcoming new members during the Sunday morning service on May 19. Those who would like to participate and be formally welcomed as members of the congregation should email Amanda or Anne Berg and Susie Soule from the Membership Committee.
A reminder that membership is not a requirement to participate in the ministries of St. Bart's. Membership status, though, signifies a commitment to the vitality and sustainability of our ministries through thoughtful engagement, participation in decision-making, and contributions of time, talents, and treasure.
Questions can also be directed to Amanda, Anne, or Susie.
