This year, we're inviting the whole congregation to take part in preparing our Grace Family Dinners!
Rather than assigning committees to dates, we are asking that everyone consider how they might help with our dinners and sign up for dates that work for you.

If you have a favorite soup, we hope you'll share it! If you're not as much of a cook, but can provide bread or drinks, that's great! We'll also need assistance with setup and cleanup.

Race & Reconciliation
Join Race and Reconciliation at Grace Lutheran Church on Thursday, February 23 at 7pm for a discussion on "Whiteness in America" led by Rev. Dr. W. Benjamin Boswell.

Rev Boswell is the creator and founder of Confronting Whiteness; an organization committed to inviting people racialized as white on a journey of becoming anti-racist practitioners in their spheres of power and influence.

He has served as the Senior Minister of Myers Park Baptist Church in Charlotte, NC since 2016. A former U.S. Army Officer with degrees from Campbell University (B.A.), Duke Divinity School (M.Div.), and Saint Paul School of Theology (D.Min), Dr. Boswell is known as a preacher, pastor, civil rights leader and public speaker who facilitates anti-racist education for people racialized as white and white-dominant organizations.

In 2021, Dr. Boswell was awarded the prestigious Martin Luther King Jr. Medallion, which is the city of Charlotte’s highest honor given to a person who promotes racial equality, social justice, and community service. He has published numerous articles and two books: "For the Facing of this Hour: Preaching that Resists White Christian Nationalism," and "Confronting Whiteness: A Spiritual Journey of Reflection, Conversation, and Transformation.”
Dear Grace Family,

I want to thank you for the Keepsake Box and for the many expressions of sympathy and caring after the recent death of my Mother. Also, I sincerely appreciate the contribution Pat Kirk and many others have made to the Bereavement committee.
I'm certain it has been a blessing to many!

Blessings to all,
Bob Goodbar
Dear Grace Family,

We are saddened to inform you that former pastor The Rev. Everette Lineberger died on January 25, 2023.

In the sure and certain hope of the resurrection, we entrust Everette to God.

Our sympathy and prayers enfold his family in this time of grief.

Member Memories
One of the ways we will be celebrating the rich history of Grace this year is to hear about its impact on the lives of its members.

Following the example of Richard Denton (one of the first to be baptized at Grace, and now a member of the Church Triumphant), we hope to share these member memories throughout our 100th year. Click HERE to read Richard Denton's Remembrance of Grace "The Early Years."

These do not need to be very long - even a single paragraph would be fine. Simply share with us your perspective, the way your story and Grace's story came together, and we will publish these remembrances in these Grace Notes publications throughout the year.

Email your memories to 100years@gracerockhill.com
Sunday Morning Hospitality is a true gift in our congregation! We have the opportunity to gather around coffee and pastries while catching up, sharing news, and meeting new people!

If you'd like to be part of this ministry, please click here to sign up as a host. If you've never hosted before, we have people who can walk you through it. Your time and effort make a big difference for the congregation.

Thank you to everyone who has been part of this ministry, and who will be taking part in the months to come!
