March for Our Lives is Marching Again
Saturday, June 11, 2022
March For Our Lives is marching once again on June 11, 2022. After countless mass shootings and instances of gun violence in our communities, it’s time to take back to the streets and march for our lives. We marched in 2018 after the shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas in Parkland, Florida, and now we’re headed back to DC. Join us on June 11th in Washington, D.C., or in one of our hundreds of local marches below.

Join Temple Israel’s Social Action Committee at
March for Our Lives, Long Beach, CA

Protect the Vote, Promote the Vote 2022 & Vote Forward
NCJW is partnering with Vote Forward, to Get Out The Vote (GOTV) for the 2022 Election! Vote Forward is a nonprofit organization that empowers grassroots volunteers to encourage their fellow citizens in underrepresented communities (like young people, people of color, and those living in rural areas) to vote by writing and sending them letters, which have been proven to boost turnout. The 2022 midterm elections are just 5 months away!
If you’re ready to write letters and have already participated in Vote Forward, you know the drill, log in at https://votefwd.org and pick the “social” campaign marked with an "S".

If you have not participated before but would like to do so, please email advocacy@ncjwlongbeach.org and we will get you set up.
NCJW is proud to co-sponsor “Live from the Frontlines: How We Fight Back Against Voter Suppression in the States Right Now” in partnership with the Workers Circle and the Center for Common Ground on:

Tuesday, June 14, 4–5 pm
ASL and close captioning will be provided

Our Section would also like to offer you the opportunity to write POSTCARDS rather than letters with the Center for Common Ground’s Reclaim Our Vote campaign. The mission of the Reclaim Our Vote campaign is to empower under-represented voters to fully participate in elections.

Reclaim Our Vote has sent 6.4 million postcards to voters for voter registration, Permanent Early Voting List, Pledge to Vote and GOTV. Their postcard campaign has expanded from 800 postcards a week to 500,000 postcards per week.

The Summer Challenge: 9 weeks to reach 1.2 million Black Florida voters who missed the last three primaries. Infrequent voters are unlikely to hear from candidate campaigns, who target ‘likely voters,’ so it is imperative to reach out and invite those voters to re-engage.

With their beautiful, eye-catching and inclusive postcards, Reclaim Our Vote communicates the power of primaries, key issues at stake, and the importance of an individual’s voice. Through the postcards, writers urge Early Voting (with ID!) to avoid Election Day woes, provide useful info for voting and free rides to the polls; and encourage voters to tell their friends (social organizing).
