Dear golf course owners and managers,

The golf season is just around the corner. Some courses are already open to the delight of golfers while others are waiting for the snow to melt. A great season is upon us.

In response to the Québec government's advice in recent weeks concerning the reduction of public health measures, the Standing Committee of the Québec golf industry would like to provide an update on the situation at the beginning of the season.

As a result of this pandemic’s 6th wave and considering that the situation remains very uncertain and concerning for government, the golf industry must remain responsible and vigilant about the Public Health measures that remain in effect.

Important information about health measures:

  • Maintaining the use of masks indoors except when customers are seated in a food service area. The use of medical grade masks in the workplace is mandatory (employees) if a physical distance of one metre cannot be maintained. Ventilation is very important in your facilities.
  • Provision of hand-washing stations.
  • Respect of physical distancing of one metre if there is no barrier. Limit interaction with staff. Avoid group lessons. Use video conferencing for training sessions if possible.
  • Displaying of Public Health rules such as mask wearing, hand washing, and distancing.
  • Five-day isolation for infected individuals.

At the moment, no further restrictions have been communicated by the government. The Standing Committee will continue to communicate important information and support golf facilities and indoor centres in the coming months.

By remaining collectively responsible and taking care of your customers and employees, you will begin your 2022 season safely. Prevention remains your best ally for the 2022 opening of your golf club.
